Peace of mind is priceless!

Pet care experience

I just moved to auburn, I am a veterinary technician, and a certified humane education specialist, with an in depth background in dog behavior and hospice care. I am active, kind, and honest. I believe in high ethical standards. I can administer meds, and fluids. I have an amazing pack that has helped so many individual dogs. Animals are my passion, it is what I was born to do. There are few limits to what I am capable of and I am extremely flexible as each animal has their own special needs. I like to send pictures and stay in touch so that you can see for yourself how happy they are. I have many references in desired, and I hope to hear from you!!

Athea has been watching my dogs for several years now. There is NO ONE that I trust more. Athea is a most compassionate dog caregiver. In addition to taking care of all ages of dogs, She is also particularly skilled at caring for older dogs, and dogs with medical needs. This makes her so special and unique as she is able to handle any situation that may come up. Athea cared for my senior lab for several weeks after a very complicated surgery. I wasn't able to give my pup the intense follow up care that she needed and Athea offered to do it (which is how I originally met her). I know that because of her love and care, my pup lived several years longer than the surgeon predicted. Athea also fosters dogs (regular and hospice) for Muttville Senior Dog Rescue and is well loved and respected by this incredible organization. Athea is loving, kind, knowledgeable and reliable. I recommend her highly!

Athea is fantastic. I have known her for almost ten years, initially working with her in a small animal clinic (I as a veterinarian and she as a vet tech), and then continuing on as friends ever since. I immediately liked Athea due to her extremely personable and sincere, caring personality. As an experienced vet tech, Athea can provide any medical treatments or medication administration that your pet may routinely need, and knows when a pet requires veterinary attention. As a dog-sitter, she not only provides all the essentials (food, water, lots of exercise), but gives each pet quality and personalized attention. She knows dogs well and caters to their individual personalities to make them feel most comfortable. When you leave your best friend with Athea, you can be sure that they are not only being taken care of properly, but that they are happy.

Our dog has never wanted to stay at a borders until now. The social interaction is just shat she needs. Thank you Athea for giving us peace of mind while away.

Information Athea P. would like to know about your pet

What their daily routine consists of and what their special needs are, i.e. Daily brushing, long hikes, medications etc. I like to know what they are allowed to do and not allowed to do so we don't create bad habits when they trick Auntie Athea into letting them on the couch when they aren't supposed to.

A typical day

I love keeping the brain as active as the body and truly believe that they benefit from both, unless they are senior citizens of course. This house belongs to the dogs, I just live here ? I try and keep everyone on a schedule similar to the one they are used to, they are creatures of habit and I beleive they thrive best that way!
