Our experience with Aspen is unfortunately not a good one. We booked with her to housesit and care for our dog and cat. When we met with Aspen ahead of our trip she said she would be sending updates and pictures while we were away and neither happened. In fairness, she would respond when we asked for updates but then not follow through in sending images or initiating any check-ins herself. The first day of our trip was the only time she initiated communication–letting us know she had a health emergency with her partner that would prevent her from being able to spend the night some nights. We returned from our trip to numerous pee puddles on the floor–some recent and others that were maybe there for days. It doesn't appear that she cleaned the litter box even once. We left the number of our friend with a spare key for Aspen in case there were any issues accessing the lockbox or the apartment. Aspen contacted this person on a few occasions to ask if she could walk our dog instead–this is obviously not what we agreed to. Aspen gave us a heads up that she wouldn't be able to spend the night every night due to that unforeseen emergency but she should have let us know that there were instances where she was not available for walks/check-ins too. We could've helped find a backup solution. For these reasons I would not book with Aspen again or recommend her as a reliable caretaker.
