Ashlynn did a very good job taking care of our pups. Great communication and my babies seemed happy!

This was the second time we used Ashlynn and it did not go well. It got off to a bad start when she messaged us at 4:30pm the night before the stay to let us know that she would not be able to receive the dogs for pickup or drop off because she had to attend a conference. Even though she asked us if this was ok, we felt like we didn’t have a choice since it was too late to find another sitter. Instead, she told us her sister had agreed to receive the dogs, but Ashlynn would still be providing most of their care. Confused and disappointed, we agreed and made arrangements to drop off the dogs at 8:30am the next morning. When we arrived to her house the next morning and rang the doorbell, eventually her very upset mother answered the door and angrily asked us what we wanted. When we said we were here to drop off our dogs she told us ‘there is no one here’. We told her that Ashlynn had told us her sister would receive the dogs, so she told us to wait and shut the door. Eventually the sister came to the door, and nearly closed the door on us again before we gave her their bag of food and toys. Even though we asked her to send us pictures every day, she only sent us one picture over the 4 day stay, and that was because I asked her for one. When it came time to pick up the dogs, both mother and sister came to the door, and seemed to genuinely like the dogs, but the sister told us she was ‘surprised how much Eden ate- she wouldn’t stop eating!’. We had previously told Ashlynn Eden was overweight and on a diet and to please keep all food out of her reach except at feeding time. When I told the sister this she seemed shocked and said Ashlynn had not told her that, but had only asked her to feed them that morning. At this point I have no idea who took care of the dogs for the majority of the stay, and it feels like Ashlynn wanted to collect our money but forgo the responsibility of looking after our dogs. I also have no idea if they were ever taken on a walk. What was worse was she had 2 other dogs at the house at the same time, apparently more Rover stays that she wanted to collect money for without actually doing any work. I am giving her one star because the dogs came back without injuries, but that is the most positive thing about this stay. We will not be using Ashlynn again.
