Animal Lover With a Fenced Yard!

HI! I'M ASHLYN!: Writing about me's is not my strong suit, so please bear with me... I grew up living on a lot of land with plenty of animals to go around. We always had at least 5 dogs, a few cats, and a couple handfuls of horses. My love for animals started very young and has only grown since. I'm a strong advocate for our local shelters and rescues, and the type of person that will stop the car if I spot a lost animal every single time. I have fostered many dogs over the years, which eventually led me to Rover. If you were to ask someone to describe me, they would surely tell you about my love for animals within the first few sentences. I've had the pleasure of meeting many dogs (and a couple cats!) during my time on Rover. Reading my Rover reviews will hopefully give you a better understanding of what you can expect leaving your fur-baby in my care. Having a fur-baby of my own (that is my entire world, by the way), I genuinely understand the worry and hesitation leaving them with someone new. My hope is that you will leave our meet and greet knowing your pup(s) will be safe, well-cared for, and loved as if they were my own. WHERE WILL MY PUP BE STAYING?: My boyfriend, Jake and I own a cozy home in a safe, quiet neighborhood in Kennewick. Our home is dog friendly and has a fully secure and enclosed backyard, with plenty of room to romp around in the grass or relax on our floating deck. Jake is home with us when not working and shares the same love for dogs that I do! ANY PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE WITH ANIMALS?: Outside of my personal experience with animals, I have worked professionally for a local animal shelter as an animal control officer. This title sounds a bit scary... Really it just means I got to help reunite lost pets with their owners or find them new forever homes, play, and socialize. Working for an animal shelter has given me experience with all dog sizes, ages, breeds, and demeanors, as well as experience in administering medications. • EFFECTIVE 2020 • I accept up to 4 dogs per night. This allows me to give the proper time, love and attention to each pup without jeopardizing their needs. All dogs have full range to our home and backyard (with supervision) and are only crated by request + when you bring your own crate/kennel. • PLEASE NOTE • I do work full time, Monday - Friday helping run a family business. This allows my schedule to be a bit more flexible with drop off/pick up times and allows me to be away from home less than your standard job. On a typical day, I am home with the pups by mid-afternoon. While I am away, we use a baby gate that keeps Dozer and your pup(s) separate to ensure safety for all. Ashlyn recently watched my dog Moses and it is safe to say she is everything you could want from a pet sitter! Her daily photos and updates put my mind at ease throughout my trip that Moses was doing well and enjoying himself. She took the necessary precautions when introducing Moses and her own dog, as well as the other dogs staying during my trip, and ensured there would never be any issues. Moses will definitely be going back!
Ashlyn was a great find for my wifes little dog. She has a great yard and interior space for the dog to share with her very affable large dog. Ashlyn has been very reliable but flexible about pick up/drop off times and is always a very pleasant person. During the stress of travel we do not worry about the dog whatever. - What is their typical, daily schedule? - How often do they typically eat, and are they allowed to have treats or human food? - What is their behavior/demeanor? (ie. do they have separation anxiety, or are they more laid back? with other dogs, do they tend to be more dominant or submissive?) - Do they prefer to sleep on a doggy bed, human bed, or are they happy to sleep wherevers comfy? - What can I do to ensure your pup has a happy stay? Your dog(s) are treated like family here, and these questions will help me get to know your dog even before we meet! My goal is to provide the best care possible for your pup and their specific needs!
A typical day
I live in a quiet, safe neighborhood and am available for daily walks. We have a medium sized backyard that offers lots of room for fetch and playtime. In the summer months, I provide a kiddie pool and let the pups play, splash or lay to cool down and have fun! Dozer has an abundance of toys and is great at sharing, so we would play with those as well. I am open to any other requests, too!
