Pet care experience

*** Please see schedule information below*** Hi! my name is Ashley and I'm so excited to be caring for your animals. I recently lost my best friend at the age of 12.5 after over 11 years together and I’m missing him so much, so I’m looking forward to showing your pets the love I gave him! I know the guilt of leaving your loved one for a getaway or even for the day at work, so I am here to relieve you of that and let you focus on enjoying your time away from your home, all while your pet is being well cared for! I have experience caring for all types of animals over the past 15 years. I am currently a volunteer with Best Friends Animal Society in Atlanta where I help care for dogs and cats, including walks, cleaning kennels and shelter spaces, and of course giving lots of love and attention to animals in need. In the past, I worked for a dog daycare facility and I have a lot of knowledge of dog behavior through that experience. My baby boy that recently passed away was a very anxious dog (hated storms, fireworks, camera flashes, strangers - you name it, he was probably afraid of it!) and he was also a leash reactive dog, so I also have experience in handling dogs with all types of behavior issues.

Ashley was so wonderful with our dog!! She’s one of the few sitters we’ve found on Rover that took the time to get to know all about him before we dropped him off, and it made me feel so comfortable to know that she has experience handling leash reactive dogs. She sent very thorough updates multiple times a day, along with tons of pictures! It was clear that he was in good hands, and that she loved on him like he was her own! Ashley is super sweet, knowledgeable, and capable, and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for exceptional care!

Ashley was absolutely amazing! She kept us updated consistently while we were abroad and included lots of pictures! She was great with our senior dog who doesn’t get along with other dogs and kept her active and happy! I would recommend Ashley to anyone and will definitely be a return customer.

Olive had so much fun staying with Ashley! We got so many updates throughout the day and she followed Olive’s normal routine to a T. We will absolutely be booking with her again!

I have had some poor pet sitters in the past with my own dog, and I know the stress that can cause. I also know what it's like to be a solo dog parent (and a senior dog parent), and the importance of the community to help you out when needed. I am reliable, thorough, trustworthy and experienced. I am an excellent communicator and you will always be in the know when I'm responsible for your pet. I can pick up on dogs behaviors to know exactly what they need, which makes me the perfect fit for your pet! I live in a townhome and do not have a fenced in yard, so your dog must be comfortable being leashed up for walks. Also just FYI for the senior dog parents, I have some wood floors on the lower level (carpeted stairs and upstairs level) and about 12 stairs inside my townhome and 4 stairs outside my townhome. I'm happy to gate off the inside stairs and limit the number of times going up/down to just bedtime if your dog has joint/mobility sensitivities. The outside stairs are unavoidable as it's the way to enter/exit the house. When staying in a client’s home, I will stick to whatever routine is needed for your pet to ensure they stay comfortable while you are away. Whether staying in my home or yours, your dog will receive so much love and attention from me!

Information Ashley W. would like to know about your pet

Are they potty trained? What do I need to know about their schedule? Are they allergic to any treats? What's their favorite walking path to take? Are they good with other dogs? Are they leash reactive? What's their routine? What makes your dog happy? Is your dog anxious? How can I help relieve their anxiety? Does your dog have any sensitive parts on their body to be touched? What's their favorite treat? What is the owner most worried about? How can I help calm the owners worries while away?

A typical day

I do best with low-medium energy dogs in my home for "Boarding" (in my home). I'm happy to take your dog on a long walk on their favorite path or take them to their favorite dog park (of course, if they're good with other dogs). I love to find grassy spots in the concrete jungle of the city and love watching dogs get all their sniffs! I always bring a doggy water bottle and am cautious of hot pavement, as I know these southern summers can be tough on dogs. If you’re comfortable (and your dog is too), I’m happy to get your dog out of the house and socialize them (breweries, parks, etc) during their "Boarding" stay at my home. Just let me know!

I love going on walks around the neighborhood. You can expect 3-4 walks daily (about 30 min each) with your dog when they stay in my home. I'm happy adjust duration (longer for energetic dogs or shorter for senior dogs!), just let me know. I also am very conscious of the heat in Atlanta and will take your dog shorter walks during those days (most times I up the frequency of walks to ensure they're getting movement throughout the day). I live alone and recently lost my dog of 11 years, so your pet will receive so much love and attention. For "Boarding" stays (in my home), I do best with dogs who are low to medium energy (and I love love love the senior pets!). For "Dog Walking" or "Drop Ins", I love all types of dogs and energy levels and love going on walks to get my steps in with them! ____________________ ***Schedule Information*** “Boarding” services (in my home): I work in the office 2-3 days a week and my schedule is flexible depending on the week. If your pet is ok to be left alone up to 8 hours during the day on weekdays, feel free to book your stay whenever my calendar allows. If your dog needs someone home all day, please inquire about your dates and I will let you know if I can accommodate my work from home schedule for the stay. On weekends (Saturdays/Sundays) I will not be away longer than 2-4 hours throughout the day - usually to just run errands, grab a bite, or attend a workout class. “House Sitting” (in your home): I usually only do these when I get to know your pet and owners to ensure both parties are comfortable in your home (usually accept these after a couple "Boarding" stays in my home). Overnights in your home ("House Sitting") will be from 6pm-8am (weekdays) and about 6pm-11am (weekends). I will be with your pet during these time slots and will not leave the house during these times. If your pet needs an additional walks/drop-in throughout the day (outside of the above times), you will need to book that with me separately - see "Dog Walking" and "Drop In Visits" information below. Please contact me to discuss my schedule for "House Sitting" services. "Dog Walking" and "Drop In Visits": Monday - Friday I can accommodate these visits before work (before 8am) or after work (after 6pm). As mentioned, I work from home a couple days a week so I may be able to accommodate walks during the day so please reach out for more details. On the weekends, I am wide open as long as my calendar allows. Please book “Dog Walking” if I am leashing them up and taking them on more than a 10 minute walk/stroll. “Drop Ins” are for less than 10 minute walks or letting them outside in your yard. ____________________
