Professional Dog Trainer w/ Passion

Pet care experience

I have 10 years of professional dog training and another 10+ years prior of taking care of the needs and wants of family, friends, neighbors, etc. dog's cats and farm animals. Since Autum of 2022, I needed to shift my full time Dog Training employment into taking care of mine and my family's medical needs, but still want and need to pursue my passion for dogs! Whether it be training, boarding, walks, or drop-in snuggles. I am grateful that my family and I live very close by so being able to stay home and still provide care and much needed loving's for each animal is easily within reach. I do limit myself to a max of 5 client dogs at a time; 2 of which can be board and train. I do offer training options however they are not within the options of Rover.

Ashley was wonderful! She sent pictures and updates throughout the stay, and I picked up two very happy (and clean!!) pups!

Ashley was wonderful! Hank had an awesome time with her and her very sweet dogs. She even sent a few photos and videos. We appreciated the time to run our errands and spend time with friends.

Safety, trust & environment

Safety is #1! I have a fenced yard, low/no traffic neighborhood and on leash, crating is routine for meals or when unattended (grocery stores, Appts). Baby/Dog gates are installed so that when dogs are free in the house, no one can be out of sight. The first 24 hrs (or more if needed) I allow time for decompression. Which means they are one-on-one with me, they get to explore the house and yard without any other dogs bothering them and allowing them to become comfortable and familiar with their new surroundings for the duration of their stay. It also gives me the opportunity to get to know the dog and their personality to better assess who they would best have a good relationship with (high energy, low energy, timid, or prefer one-on-one with people only).

Information Ashley S. would like to know about your pet

Obviously, everyone has THEIR home routines. I like clients to jot down a brief note of their typical daily routine so that I can mimic it to the best I can. Essential information needed: Feeding instructions Medical history: current issues and past ( ie: ingesting toys, rocks, blankets) Escapees: can get out of crates, can climb fences, etc) Aggression (towards men, women, children) **Most aggressive dogs are not an issue for me**

A typical day

Mornings always start with a good stretch, getting zoomies out, and breakfast- of course! My younger or more active dogs could play outside in my fenced yard if it’s a beautiful day, go for a walk or hike at a local park or on my property. My older or low active dogs get the opportunity to lounge around the house wherever they please (couches, pet beds, recliners, people beds, etc.). To keep up with some mental stimulation, lots of appropriate toys, bones, and busy feeding toys are available at any time. While your furry family members are with me their safety is #1- meaning that I keep them in my eyesight at all times. Pet gates separate any rooms where they could wonder off unless I’m in there with them, as well as each dog is crated for meals to ensure they are getting all their nutrition (or fed separately in a room with me). To no surprise, it can be a bit loud or rowdy at times, but I’m well adequate to settle down our rambunctious ones and calm our timid ones as well. Nighttime ends with dinner, several opportunities to potty, tiring out our wild ones, crating for bedtime or if preferred they could sleep in my bedroom. **If you can’t tell by the description, I have delt with a plethora of dogs/puppies and I jokingly say “the dogs don’t scare me off, it’s the owners” LOL!!!***

Availability

I’m very flexible with my schedule. I only take in a max of 5 client dogs; 2 of which can be board and train status. I'm typically home the majority of the day, other than grocery store runs, doctor appointments, dog walks at the park, drop in visits, etc., but I'm usually never away from home for more than 4 hrs at a time especially when having a client's dog.
