Animals are what I love the most!
Pet care experience
I’ve had at least one dog in my life since the day I was born. I’m familiar with dogs that need medication or special care and can take care of more than one dog at once. At most, I have taken care of my three dogs at home (Texas) and five dogs while house sitting. I’m good with dogs that are hard to walk, high energy and need lots of play, and even ‘needy’ dogs that want a hand on them at all times. In my opinion, no dog is too big or too small!

Great to have my fur babies so well taken care of!!
Ashley was amazing! It was my first time having her stay with our girls and I never had to worry, even with my older dog needing extra attention. I would absolutely use her again!
So helpful and communicative!
Ashley was great at usual, lots of communication and house and animals well cared for!

Safety, trust & environment
Safety and comfort is my number one concern. When you're away and someone new is not only caring for your pet but also staying in/entering your home, you always want peace of mind. I guarantee doors are secure when leaving any home and that no pet is trying to poke their nose for a possible escape out when entering. On any walk, dogs will be leashed (and harnessed, if applicable) and there will always be a high level of awareness and caution (intersections, reactivity, leash fit/length, etc). I always leave the used/approved spaces reset to normal and clean with no laundry, dishes, or trash left behind. Time and owner permitting, I'm always willing to wash sheets and towels to make sure returning home is as easy as possible!
Information Ashley S. would like to know about your pet
I don’t have breed preferences but I would like to know their normal routine and general personality. How they are on a leash and if they are reactive to other dogs/people is also critical for safety on walks. Additionally, it's helpful to know if your pet has any separation anxiety to ensure their well-being; not every pet warms up to new caregivers immediately and that's okay! Every pet has preferences and I always want to ensure they are as happy as possible. Lastly, your expectations as a paw-rent are important as well! Some clients want as many pictures as possible but others prefer a once-daily update and if your destination is known, I take time zones into account to prevent any late-night notifications. Communication is key on both sides of the sitting so setting expectations and asking questions prevents any potential stress arising later in the stay!
A typical day
We can go on walks around your neighborhood or if your dog likes car rides, we could go to a dog-friendly trail! I'm familiar with plenty of local trails but will stick with what you and your pet are most comfortable with. Whatever type of play your pet(s) like is what we will do! Whether that’s fetch, tug of war, or simply some pats and extra attention. I have worked with many high-intelligence dogs and can provide mental stimulation as well so they aren't bored, hyperactive, or anxious. Additionally, I am good with nervous pets who might take a bit longer to warm up to people. I have gotten multiple pets who "don't usually eat much" or like to hide under the bed when an owner is gone to lick their bowls clean and/or come out for some play/cuddle time. Fostering a comfortable environment and relationship for every pet is my priority.

Availability
Friday to Tuesday, I work full-time locally (9-5ish plus commute). If your dog is used to a working schedule, I would still love to sit them! Since I do Rover for fun and to meet new friends (your pets), my job does come first when it comes to scheduling. Additionally, it is worth noting that, unfortunately, my job is just slightly too far from most residential places in my service area to be able to drop-in for a bit on lunch breaks. On a case to case basis, I might be able to request a day or two off if necessary; but this will depend on notice and flexibility with pricing. Even though I do work, I still have plenty of time to give your pet(s) love! I will still maintain their daily routines, feeding schedules, and regular exercise regimens as closely as possible.
