Pet care experience
Deciding what to do for your pet when you are busy at work or traveling can be extremely difficult. You can experience peace of mind knowing that your pet is in caring, capable hands, while staying in a familiar and secure environment. Your pet can follow their customary diet and exercise routine, reducing stress and minimizing anxiety. I run in Good Hands Pet Care full time. Enabling me to devote all my time and energy towards caring for your pets. My husband and I live in downtown Waxhaw. We have a large fenced in backyard and two small pups of our own, Tricki Woo and Claire. Tricki Woo is an 8 year old Shih Tzu and Claire is a 5 year old Chiweenie rescue. They are both very friendly and are always happy to meet new friends. We strive to be Waxhaw's premier provider of professional pet sitting, dog walking, and in-home boarding. Located in Waxhaw, NC, we service Waxhaw, and surrounding areas. I do offer assistance for pick-up and drop-off for customers who live nearby. In 2012 I left corporate America to pursue my dream career - creating and owning my own pet care business. Since starting my business, I have never looked back. It's true that when you do what you love, it doesn't feel like work. I love my customers and it's wonderful to feel truly appreciated in return. My pet care business is my full time job and the fur-babies that are in my care are my top priority. We work hard to customize our services to each individual pets needs. :) Background: I grew up in St. Maarten in the Caribbean and have always been passionate about animals. I can't remember a time growing up that we weren't nursing an animal back to health or finding a loving home for a found stray. I moved to Charlotte, NC with my family in 1997 and graduated from UNCC with a major in International Business. I interned at a young age at a veterinary clinic, helped rehabilitate abused and neglected horses, and have worked with the Humane Society. In addition to pet care, I am a Zumba Instructor. I teach a couple times a week and have been an instructor for almost five years.

Ashley was wonderful! I am picky about who my unwell dog stays with while I travel. But Ashley was wonderful! I forgot to send a bottle of medication for my dog and she was kind enough to go to the pharmacy and pick it up without any hesitation. Her home was clean and well kept and her own dogs are adorable! I will use Ashley again with no apprehension at all.
Ashley and Dan are amazing! They took such good care of our little Makena, allowing my wife and I to slip away for anniversary week getaway. With daily updates via pictures texts and videos, we were able to see how much fun our ‘kiddo’ was having at her home away from home. Would absolutely recommend Ashley to anyone considering Rover. So glad to have found you Ashley and Dan! Will be using you all exclusively moving forward for all future pup sleep overs!
Ashley is kind, considerate and 100% reliable. She sent multiple pictures and videos the entire time we were away. I would highly recommend her services to anyone looking for someone that they can truly trust with their furry baby's best interests. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

The more information you tell me about your pup, the better. Including: breed, age, medical history, how they interact with other dogs, where they sleep at night, diet, age, and potty training. Let me know if your pup has any separation anxiety or aggression around other dogs or people so we can make sure to provide them the best experience possible. We require all dogs to be current on their rabies, distemper/parvo and bordetella vaccines and arrive with enough food, medications, treats, or other food items your pet will need. As well as their, collar, harness, leash, bedding/crate and their favorite toy.
A typical day
We cater to the needs of the pups that stay with us. Our large fenced backyard is a perfect play area pups that enjoy running around outside to play and we keep plenty of toys on hand! We primarily keep older, laid back pups, so they usually just want to be on the couch in the house with us in our laps, or taking a snooze inside on their bed. :)
