Hello, Welcome to The Longwood Retreat! Where your dog is truly on vacation and will receive tons of attention and plenty of love in a beautiful country setting. We are a family of two with no children and have one female dog who we adore that is very friendly. We would love to welcome your dog into our home where they will be treated like our own! We have grown up taking care of multiple dogs our entire life and have spent time learning about dog psychology reading books by Cesar Milan and watching his show. We spend most of our time at home and live on a very quiet, low traffic road we enjoy leisurely walks and our dog Aura enjoys playing ball in our very large yard. If your pup is lucky, they may spot one of the rare gopher tortoises that have colonized at The Longwood Retreat. We only watch up to two dogs in addition to our dog at a time to keep the house calm and be able to provide the best supervision for your pup. We will be happy to meet any requirements you have while watching your pet and will send you pictures and updates every day. Please let us know if you have any questions. We have an older dog, Chloe, who is going blind and has arthritis in her back legs. She is uncomfortable around multiple other dogs, large dogs, and hyper dogs. Ashley and Harrison’s was the ideal place for her to stay. They never have more than 3 dogs, they only accept smaller dogs (less than 40 lbs), and their dog, Aura, is very adaptable to the energy of the dog(s) staying with them. They took great care of our “special needs” dog and picked up on her little quirks. Chloe takes a while to warm up to new surroundings, but was eating enough the 1st day to be able to take her Rx, which Ashley and Harrison had no trouble giving to her. Their daily updates and photos brightened our day while we drove our daughter to college in Iowa. Thank you for welcoming our “special” Chloe into your household as one of your own!
This was the first time we had to leave Zoey and we were nervous! She is still a puppy. She adored her time with Aura, Ashley and Harrison's fur baby, and Bernie, another guest of theirs. We were completely comfortable leaving her there while we were in a cruise and completely out of touch. She was clearly happy and well loved while we were gone. We hope she can play with Aura again soon!
Our Coco was well taken care of for the week with Ashley and Harrison. She was exercised and loved on...we couldn't have asked for any more!
Ashley & Harrison are great! They're dog lovers and it shows. Super kind, professional & flexible. They'll send you pictures of your dog. Big yard, great environment. I highly recommend them!
