The Fairy Pawsitter
Pet care experience
Hello! I am Ashley, your Fairy Pawsitter. I have over a decade of experience and have had many pets of my own throughout my life. I have many years of experience with senior dogs. I grew up in the Boston area, went to fashion school in NYC and came back to work in tech. I own an axolotl so definitely reach out if you are looking for care for a water dog - or any dog for that matter. I began my pet sitting business in January 2023. When you book with me, you are booking for my extensive experience and hands on care. Given my attentive nature and experience with older dogs, I am qualified and open to watching dogs who have more specific needs- whether it be dietary, medicine, anxiety issues, etc. please state these needs in advance. Experience: ** Schnauzer puppy (6 months old) currently undergoing training in my home ** Animal care volunteer program in Costa Rica - 1 week in February 2024. ** My dear boy Charlie, who I had for 11 years. He passed in October 2023. ** My Rover cats and dogs, who all have a polaroid picture on my kitchen mirror. ** Dog walking in Manhattan and Brooklyn during college. ** My cat Marcy, who was taken in as a stray from the streets of Brooklyn. ** My cat Samantha. She was my little fighter who passed in 2015. ** My dogs Jake and Bugsy, whom we had for many years into their golden years. I want to make sure your family has the best experience! I like meet and greets and often require them! This allows you to see the space your furry friend will be in and allows them to acclimate. We may need some time to coordinate schedules.
Reviews
Ashley was wonderful taking care of our little guy. We had regular updates throughout where he looked like he was having a great time, and when he had a little stomach issue Ashley quickly handled it and made him a basic diet to settle it back down. I would definitely work with Ashley again!
Ashley was wonderful, accommodating and katie was very happy
This was my first time using Rover and Ashley was great. She cared for my senior dog well and was very kind as well as informative. I'm a pretty new dog mom and adopted Bentley a few months ago, so I wasn't sure of everything I needed to tell Ashley, but she was an absolute pro. I loved getting updates and pics, it was reassuring my first time away from my dog.
Amazing sitter! Gave updates often, would book again

Our fur babies really are our family and I treat every pet who comes through my door like my own. Our pets can also communicate with us in subtle ways and I am good at picking up on what they may be needing in that moment. Your dog is welcome to have free reign of my condo unless you prefer them to be crated. My space is great for socialization and I have recently changed my profile to allow for more than one dog at a time. If your dog is not very social or just needs a break, I can split the house in half. I do have a roommate who has a small pup about 6 months old. Dogs can be separated if need be. In case of emergency, I am located close to 2 animal hospitals. Safety and comfort are my top priority while your furry family member is in my care. All pets are under close supervision while in my care. My home is equipped with a first aid kit. In addition, I have both a small and medium size pet car seat. I am First Aid and CPR for Pets certified through ProTrainings, effective 11/27/23. Please ask me all the questions! The more I know about your furry friend, the better I can care for them.

If you are a crazy dog lady like me, I'm sure you will tell me anything and everything! No detail is too small so please give me all of them! Please be sure to communicate any of the following in advance upon requesting a boarding: ** Dietary needs or restrictions ** Your pet's general personality and behaviors - on walks, with other dogs/people/kids ** If your pet socializes with other animals well or exhibits aggressive behaviors ** Where they like (or do not like) being pet ** Allergies and medications ** Anxiety, mobility, potential stressors etc. ** Any other specific care requests When packing your dog's bag, most people typically bring food, your dog's bed or their favorite treats and toys.
A typical day
I ensure your loved one will feel right at home and never experience a moment of loneliness in your absence. There are some parks close to me where I have brought dogs for walks or to play some catch. After a day of fun activities, I enjoy putting on some TV and cuddling under some blankets. You will receive a daily report card while your pet is with me going over things like mealtimes, walks, overall mood, and sleeping habits. I offer the following add-ons, so please request any and all! ** Kong with peanut butter: Complementary with your booking ** Medication administration: $7 per day ** Hiking excursion: $25 for one 3 to 5 mile on-leash hike through Blue Hills ** Filtered water: $5 per day

Availability
I’m available for my furry guests full time throughout the day and night. I am exploring certificates in dog training. Facilities can be stressful and I’m sure the pups much prefer my cozy sofa by the fireplace! If your dog needs a higher level of comfort and attention, I'm your girl! I am more than happy to keep you updated on your pet while you're away- whether it's photo updates, videos, summary of their days, or a quick text message on how they are doing. Please let me know if you want me to try to train any new commands! I am typically found in my living room by the fireplace. I'm often doing coursework, crafting, or watching Dog TV while doing all of the above. I typically prefer to maintain a schedule for pets in my care regarding feeding time, medication administration, walks, and bedtime. This way I can mimic their home life and I find this helps pets adjust to having a new friend in a new place. Feel free to follow my instagram or Facebook: thefairypawsitter! I will ask for consent before posting your furry friend in any capacity.
