My names Ashley and I am a Nutrition Masters Student/Dietetic Intern with my DTR credentials. I started using Rover because I couldn’t have a pet of my own, but now I have my own doggie, Tianna (pug), and Cali (cat). Rover has given me the ability to meet new animal friends and to continue relationships with the clients that I have built rapport with since I started to be a professional pet caretaker in 2018. My experience with animals comes from both personal and professional. Growing up, I had dogs, cats, fish, birds, hamsters, hedgehogs, bunnies, ducks, sheep, chickens…as I keep typing I realize it sounds like I grew up on a farm, but I didn’t! Just a family with a love for animals that lived in a small town! I have experience with special needs pets, from my late pug Tinika who only had three paws, to my clients that need to take medications or be hand fed to make sure that they’re eating with their medical conditions and also one client that I have learned to give a subcutaneous IV to. I have experience with dogs that are tiny, and large dogs as well, like the Great Dane I care for with three legs or the Great Dane/Lab Mix who is 100#’s. I have experience with cats that are outgoing and also shy kitties! With training from you on how you expect your pet cared for and what they need, I’m up for almost any pet related task that your fur baby would need while in my care. I would love the opportunity to meet and care for them whenever you would need and I cannot wait to meet and work with you! My schedule is kind of wonky this spring with my internship, but will be widely open starting May 1, 2022 because I’ll be on summer break. My internship sends me as far as Indiana, PA and keeps me as local as home, so I try to be as flexible with scheduling as I can be, but sometimes I can’t be as flexible. Please reach out for any availability questions, I would love to work with you if our schedules would work together! I care for pets like I would want my own pets to be cared for. During drop-in visits, I try and spend as much time with the pet as possible and give the pet the kind of attention it would like. With cats, that's sometimes just being left to themselves with me just being there or sometimes that's tons of pets and playing. For pups, it's making sure that they get whatever care they need as well. Walks work the same way, making sure I refresh water, as needed and give pets before I go! Each service has a unique situation, so I try to cater to that.
