Pet care experience
I used to work in a doggy day-care centre looking after various breeds of dogs on a day to day basis. This opened my eyes to seeing how not to care for other people's dogs and taught me how to do it with care. I have cared for many people's pets and am not deterred by any breed or any characteristic. I have been walking dogs, dropping in throughout the day and looking after them in my own home for a while now. I love every bit of it. I raised my Dobermann for 12 years until we lost her recently. I have cared for family and friends' dogs on occasion. Dogs are the absolute world, they are so, so special, each and every one of them. Since the passing of our girl, every dog we look after is a blessing and fills our home with love again. Leicester City Council - Animal Welfare Licence Number: AWL0011/156934

We've just come to the end of our eighth week of Ashley looking after our pup whilst we're at work and we couldn't recommend any sitter higher! Dillon can be a handful, especially out on a walk, but we have absolutely no worries when he's being looked after by Ashley - and Amy! Dillon is absolutely adored whilst we're at work, and often sulks a bit when we get home! The most loving sitter ever 😊
Ashley is really good. Ian and Ino have good playing time with him. We will book again definitely if we need next time.
This was our young Labrador’s first time away from family for a week. It was a real home from home and he got lots of stimulation and affection with Ashley and Amy.

I'd like to know about a dog's characteristics so I can work with them to allow them to enjoy themselves and protect them from stressful situations. Whether your dog likes to run & play with others or whether they like to keep to themselves, I can work with that. Also I'd like to know any food intolerance they may have. Any resource guarding issues they have so I can be better equipped with handling their food and toys without causing them unnecessary stress as I am a stranger to them at the beginning, they may feel unsure ofe and become extra worried around these times. It's important to know what food they like in regards to vegetables as we prefer to give carrots as treats.
A typical day
We start with big smiles and a lot of fuss, we're genuinely so happy that we have a dog staying with us. After breakfast we will play for a while and go for a walk. They can find comfort wherever they like in our home, we don't have any restrictions, they can snuggle on the couch and even lay on the bed with us whilst we watch a movie.

Availability
I do this full time. Pet care is my passion so I have built my whole career around it. My wife, Amy, works from home full time too so has a big involvement in the care of the animals too. There will always be someone home during your pets stay with us, we don't agree with leaving them alone in a strange place as this can already be a highly stressful time for them. Your pets will have all the attention they want as this is their holiday, we will walk, play and do whatever it takes to help them feel happy and content. They can join us on the sofa and they can enjoy the full run of the house.
