Pet care experience
I have owned cats my entire life and lived around dogs for most of that time; I have owned reptiles and fish, I've volunteered at numerous animal shelters, I was even a docent at a zoo! I am definitely that person at a party who loves to get to know the resident animals, no matter what breeds they are. I have cared for elderly, blind, diabetic, and anorexic animals at different times so I'm very comfortable giving pills, shots, bathing, claw-clipping, and making friends with animals of all ages. While I share my home with cats, I love playful dogs of all sizes. I grew up around dachshunds and greyhounds and have cared for all kinds of dogs at animal shelters in TN, OK, and WI. I am also a plant mom and am happy to care for your green-kids as well. I collect and care for bonsai, succulents, herbs, and all kinds of houseplants, and I know which ones are not pet-safe. Me? I’m an artist and teacher, Virgo homebody with a crafty bent. When I’m not creating or cooking I’m greeting dogs at the farmer’s market.

My cats are indoor only but they do travel with me for work sometimes. Both are chipped, healthy, and very social. I believe a happy pet is a comfortable pet-- one that can play and enjoy both indoor and outdoor spaces with healthy boundaries. Your rules are the ones I follow; getting to know the needs of you and your fur-kids is the first step in taking care of you both.

Things that I like to know about your dog: their feeding and general activity schedule, what kinds of treats are allowed, and how they interact with people and other animals. I find it helps to know where their safe place is and where their favorite toy lives.
A typical day
Love a good, long walk! When watching your pup I’d make sure we play a few times a day, take time to sit and calm down together, and eat and walk together. I live next to two parks and have neighbors with dogs, so if it’s ok to introduce them I’d help them make some new friends. Socializing with dogs and humans in a variety of settings is super important.

I am a teacher with a fairly open schedule-- pretty flexible during the day and my evenings and weekends are my own. I love to snuggle with my own cats but need a good walk myself a few times a day!
