Pet care experience
My family has always had pets and I’ve also had the opportunity to live on a small hobby farm, helping to care for dogs, cats, goats, horses, and chickens. I have two dogs and two cats of my own. Brunhilde, my husky/elkhound mix is 4 and we’ve had her since she was a small puppy, so I have lots of puppy experience. Hiromi, my husky/malamute mix is 10 and was rescued from the CACC in 2019. He has many issues with anxiety and resource guarding, so I’m also experienced in caring for animals who aren’t always so easygoing. Both dogs are quite large and I’m able to walk them together on my own.

I hate leaving my dogs, but I know they are in good hands with Ashley. She’s loving, careful, and responsible. She follows intstructions to the letter and is very reliable. She shows up at the right time for their walks and for dinners, sticking to their normal schedules. My dogs adore her and look forward to their walks with her.

I am comfortable with caring for pets who do not have access to a backyard. Until recently, my dogs were only able to go outside for leashed walks. I do not provide training, but am comfortable with leash walking dogs with even minimal training.

A typical day
I love taking dogs for long walks and visiting nearby parks. Playing fetch, running, and making sure we all get a good amount of exercise is important to me. I also know how to take it easy for senior pets who aren’t as lively.

Availability
I work freelance, so my availability is fairly flexible. I can fit pet care into almost any part of my day. If a dog needs care after dark, I prefer only a short walk or to let them out in a fenced yard.
