Pet care experience
I have been playing with and caring for dogs since I was a small child! As a previous animal care associate from the Humane Society of Charlotte, my passion is to provide animals with the best lives possible. I am becoming a certified dog trainer and would love to build my own animal care business! I have a 7 year old miniature dachshund, and a rescue that was once so afraid we didn't see him for the first 3 weeks he came to the shelter. After months of sitting with him and showing humans aren't terrible, he became my best friend and now he's my other baby. Having this experience has made me passionate about shy dogs, and really giving the best care, love, and patience to dogs as I can provide. I really love all animals, from dogs to cats, birds, cows, lizards, chickens, pigs, snakes....if you have an animal other than a dog or a cat, I would love to take care of them as well :)

I have 2 pomeranians, a boxer, and a cat, and Ashleigh is the first person I call whenever I need a pet sitter. She's reliable, knowledgeable about animal care, and she's so loving towards our pets. I love receiving pictures from her of the animals and getting updates on how they're doing while I'm away. If you want quality care for your pets, Ashleigh is your girl!
Ashleigh has been dog-sitting for my two medium-sized pups for nearly a year now. She is incredibly easy to get in touch with and always quick to respond when I have a request for pet-sitting dates. I had never had a dog-sitter in our home before so I was nervous about leaving our pups but Ashleigh has continued to take care of them as if they were her own. I have an elderly dog and a young dog so every now and then I have special instructions for the dogs which never seems to be a problem for her. I haven't worried about leaving my dogs again since that first visit. It's a true comfort having a dog-sitter you trust and Ashleigh is just that!

I have no breed preferences! I think it is important to know if a dog resources guards their toys or food bowl so I can be prepared for that sort of aggression, or if a dog doesn't like other dogs. I think it is important and valuable for dogs to spend time with other dogs, but if they are aggressive I think that is very important for me to know! Not all dogs like other dogs, just like some people doesn't like other people. Dogs and humans aren't too different :)
A typical day
I love giving dogs treats and making them as comfortable at home as possible. I would eagerly take them to the dog park (if they're dog friendly) or the dog bar with some friends. If you like, I can work on some basic commands like sit, wait, or lay down!
