Pet care experience
Growing up around many dogs and being a dog owner myself, I have lots of experience caring for dogs. I have a 6 year-old rescued Pitbull named Benito. I have learned so much from being his dog mom, especially when it comes to dealing with dog anxiety, treat training, and observing behaviors. My parents have a 4 year-old Cavapoo named Coby, who I often walk and hang out with. In college, I would dog sit during the summer or on weekends. When I lived in Boston for 4 years, I looked after dogs all over the city. I am very responsible, reliable, and energetic. I can run around outside or cuddle inside with your dog. I'm not afraid to clean up messes either! I will treat your dog with lots of love as if it were my own! In case I haven’t been clear, I really enjoy spending time with dogs :) and I am looking forward to taking care of your dog.

Ashleigh was a huge help when our dog sitter backed out last minute and we needed to find someone without much notice. Our 9-month-old puppy can be a lot of work, but Ashleigh has great instincts with dogs and asked all the right questions to prepare for their weekend together. She sent lots of updates along the way and took our pup on long walks and fun adventures! Thank you, Ashleigh, for being such a good caretaker for our little one.

Ashleigh was great with Oyster! Sending pictures all the time so we knew what they were up to together. She also reached out when she had questions making sure she did everything right. Oyster is an active dog and she did a great job getting her energy out!
Ashleigh was great! She took wonderful care of Kipper and kept me updated throughout the whole process. She was very flexible and accommodating as my travel plans changed. Kipper was a very happy pup when I got home :)

I will have to go to clients’ homes going forward due to my own dog’s anxiety, but when I care for other pets I will treat them as my own. I believe in lots of snuggles and affection (if the dog is receptive to it) and respect any and all wishes of the owner

It’s super helpful to know about a dog’s behavior tendencies with other dogs, any anxiety triggers (for example, my dog Benito is scared of bicycles and will lunge off the leash if I’m not prepared), any medications, favorite activities, length of walks, and time of day for meals and walks.
A typical day
Portland and Falmouth have so many great areas to walk dogs. I love going to the eastern prom, Mackworth Island, or Quarry dog park. My parents’ dog Coby loves to ride in the car, so sometimes a quick ride to get a pup cup from Starbucks is all it takes to make him happy.

Availability
I currently work two part-time jobs, so my schedule can be fairly flexible. Mondays and Tuesdays are ideal for me to dog-walk. I’m also available most week days in the morning.
