I proudly admit that I am a crazy dog lady! I talk to them, cuddle/kiss them, play with them, and am very patient and loving. I grew up with three Wire-haired Fox Terriers through the years. I took care of our most recent, especially during the last years of his life. This involved medications multiple times a day, a cart to allow him to walk, carrying him around and making sure he stayed safe, and vet visits. On my own, I have owned an Akita (rescued), a Border Collie (raised from a puppy), cats (and chickens!). While in grad school, I cared for my sister's elderly German Shepherd the last few years of his life (walks, multiple medications, special food, vet visits). For several years, I dog-sat a Jack Russell Terrier and Golden-Doodle (both letting them out during the day and multiple-day/night-duration overnight stays with them at their house). I dog-sat a Welsh Terrier puppy as well as two Blue Heeler puppies for overnight stays in my apartment. I took care of my friends' 2 pit bull-mix dogs and 3 cats, as multiple overnight stays at their house. More recently, I stayed with a Shih-tzu for a couple days at his house; he ate special food and suffered from severe anxiety. I have also stayed at a house with a Doberman-mix dog and two cats, for long-term stays.
