Senior and Special Needs Safe Haven

Pet care experience

I am a lifelong dog lover/guardian and have worked with them professionally on and off over the years. While not a vet tech or trainer, my knowledge base is pretty substantial due to my many years of experience, both personal and professional. We can make special accommodations for geriatric, mobility-challenged and special needs dogs. I'm happy to prepare your homemade diets and administer medications, shots and subcu fluids for an additional charge. No health issue is too complicated- we have done it all! We are now just a one dog family- our small dogs have crossed the rainbow bridge. However, we now have a one year old. Our only dog Hoss is a big goof but dog-friendly. We can consider boarding on a case-by-case basis. We are happy to do your walks or drop-ins for dogs or cats in the Mesquite, Garland or Richardson areas.

Ariel is a very responsible, loving, caring individual. She only gives her pets the absolute best care possible, and is very knowledgeable about dog health and feeding. I would trust her completely to care for my dogs (and other animals).

I've known Ariel for years and ever since I've known her she's been caring for pets, not only in her personal, but professional life. She currently has two mature dogs, one of which is disabled. I can't think of anyone I would trust more with my pets.

Information Ariel W. would like to know about your pet

Dogs should be well-socialized with no aggressive behavior toward other dogs or children, as well as show proof of up-to-date vaccinations. We are a cat-free home since Hoss is not cat-friendly. All breeds welcome for walks and drop-ins but small dogs greatly preferred for boarding.

A typical day

All dogs staying in our home are welcomed as another member of the pack. Everyone goes out to the secure, fenced backyard first thing in the morning, before leaving for work, before dinner and before bedtime. Meals are served twice per day. All dogs sleep in pet beds in our bedroom or the living room, whichever they prefer. While we are away from the house, the kitchen and living room are open areas for dogs with comfy beds, toys, plenty of water and potty pads. They have a view of the front and back yards. Video monitor and weekday lunch visits help me watch while I'm away. We are within 15 minutes of Hillside Vet Clinic on Mockingbird Lane, a 24-hour emergency facility, as well as a neighborhood dog park.
