I recently relocated from Seattle to Chicago to begin grad school for social work. It's been a couple months, and while I'm continuing to meet the city I would love to meet your dogs! I have been surrounded by dogs my entire life. Growing up my house never had less then two dogs (in addition to cats, chickens, and goats!), ranging from small to large and requiring varying levels of individual attention. With that, most of my experience caring for dogs has been with pets of family, friends, and neighbors until I began doing Rover. Through my years of experience (as a pet owner and care taker) I have learned first-hand the impact that individualized care and consistency can have for each individual dog. I use these principles as a foundation when I am pet sitting. I have found these to be particularly important when caring for older and special needs animals. Every dog is different and thus requires their own specific kind of approach and care. Because of this, as well as my appreciation for open communication, I like to provide owners with daily updates about their pets well-being and activities (including photos!). These updates help to keep owners informed in addition to providing dogs with care that fits them best, especially with new pet/ sitter relationships. In addition to beginning grad school at the University of Chicago I am also working as an intern throughout the week. Though I have these obligations, my schedule is fairly flexible. I do my best to keep my calendar up to date because of the different components of my schedule. I prefer to meet with owner and dog/s before the booked appointment to ensure that I have all the information about what both owner and dog will need and expect during their time apart. I am always open for questions or concerns before, during, or after introductory meeting and/or sitting appointments. I am a believer that all dogs deserve a good pet-- they are good dogs.
