Runs & walks w/ quality attention!
Pet care experience
With a preference of being active outdoors, which includes hiking and exploring, inclement weather of any kind does not deter me from the goals and experiences that I would like to achieve. This includes walking your pup and allowing for them to have a chance to get some fresh air, affection, attention, and socialization. Dogs have always been a constant in my life and I hope to have one of my own, again, in the future once I have settled into a place with lots of space and a yard. My family has had a few dogs throughout my life, both purebred and shelter pups which has allowed for me to be accustomed to the fact that not all dogs are the same and some require and feel more comfortable with varying levels of attention. I have walked and cared for dogs on many levels, paid and unpaid, may it be for a summer work gig or to watch my family or friends' dogs. When living in England for the previous three years before moving to Baltimore I belonged to a website that allowed for me to borrow dogs in the area, whereas, I would seek pups to be active with on my down time. I find that they bring much enjoyment and can be quite therapeutic. I put animals needs equal to those of humans, if not more. The love they give has no limits and the benefits of owning a dog are many.
Reviews
This was my dogs second stay with April, and she had such a good time! Thanks so much April, we’ll see you soon!!
April was really great in responding to a last minute request to pet sit for the weekend. Super responsive and timely and good with my two dogs.
Odin -- my big goofy pit lab mix -- seemed very happy and well cared for!
April is awesome - so flexible and caring, and our pup clearly really enjoyed her weekend! Thanks!!

I have an open floor plan apartment so I’m able to keep an eye out on things a bit easier. I like to set up dog beds next to my bed and I will often allow pups on my bed with me if there is a sheet or towel underneath unless your dog is hypoallergenic. Something that’s really excellent is the enclosed dog park a block away that is used very often. This allows for your dog to get some off leash action in a safe space. I don’t walk dogs on streets that I know have a lot of trash or bones.

Information April S. would like to know about your pet
Does your pup have any allergies or sensitivities? Does your pup require space of their own on walks, away from people, children and other dogs? (this will not deter me from wanting to care for your dog, rather, I want to make sure that your pup is comfortable and feels safe) Do you allow for your pup to be off leash/can they be trusted to return if in a park while playing catch? (I prefer to keep them on the lead, but more active dogs may require more energy to be released during the day)
A typical day
There is a dog park that is enclosed a block away. It’s not used as often as most dog parks so the dogs are usually by themselves or one other dog. Owners make sure to let others know that they are coming into the dog park in the event that your pup can only be by themselves. While on our walks I like to implement fun ways for your pup to appreciate listening to commands and challenges with the use of small and healthy bits of treats (that you approve of, like tiny bits of carrots) and affection, unless, of course, your pupper has weight or diabetic issues. I would like to be healthier myself so I am getting back into running. If your pup likes to go on runs this would be a great way for both of us to motivate each other to do so. Some pups like to retrieve a kicked and semi-deflated soccer ball, which I have, or tennis balls and other toys. If you have a preferred challenge for your dog to work on, I am willing to continue those lessons and challenges to your liking. Essentially, whatever your preference may be, if you communicate those preferences to me, I am capable in carrying them out.
