Pet care experience
Hi there, I'm April. I am an experienced licensed vet tech and pet sitter, and I can't wait to meet you and your pet! Dogs are amazing to me because they love unconditionally. They're always ready to cheer you up with their happy faces and wagging tails. I became a pet sitter because I love helping out, and I absolutely love hanging out with dogs and cats! You and your dog will love that I have so much experience. I have been a Certified Vet Technician for over 12 years having worked in all departments of emergency and specialty. Through my years of experience and continuing education, I have built a lot of knowledge on handling animals of all different sizes, ages, breeds, temperaments and ailments. From healthy puppies to hospice care, I have taken care of them all! I have also fostered with Paws Chicago and love helping out rescues when I can. Basically, my career and personal life has been all about the welfare of these special animals and I don't see myself stopping anytime soon. I pride myself on providing excellent customer service. I am able to anticipate your pet's needs, and am happy to accommodate anything unique about them. I'm also so excited to meet more wonderful dogs. April did a fantastic job watching our 2 kitty cats ? while we were away for a few days! She was very thorough in letting us know of the activities of our kitties and we felt at ease knowing that they were receiving such caring attention. We even received a few pics that brought a smile to our faces. ?
April did a fantastic job of caring for my older cats, one of which requires daily medication. She went above and beyond. I received daily photos and messages so I knew they were in good hands. I would definitely recommend her and would use her again in the future.
I am SO grateful I found April and that she was available to help with Beatrice. She’s kind, calm, patient, and so nice. I was nervous to find a dog walker and sitter, and April was the best person to find. I felt so comfortable leaving Beatrice with her, and I even got pictures and update throughout the day. It was a great experience. Will use her again and again!

I would like to know vaccination status. Are they on flea and tick preventatives. If there are any current health issues or past pertinent ones. What kind of medications they are on. If there are any exercise intolerances. Are they people, animal or any other type of aggressive. Are there dietary allergies or restrictions. Are there parts of their body they don't like to be touched. Are they ok around children. I want to provide the best care so the more detail the better!
A typical day
Luckily, I live right next to walking trails and a lake. There will be plenty of play time and attention. I am very attentive to your dogs needs whether it be a playful puppy or a pet that is older and needs more patience. If you are working on behavior training or have any other needs I can make sure to keep your pet on schedule.
