All Creatures: quality pet care!
Pet care experience
We are interested in offering fabulous care, in your home, for almost any type of pet. I prefer whatever your pet needs at each visit whether you book as a Drop-In care visit, Walking/Exercise-focused visit, or House Sitting (as visits only). See below for more details on these. We can care for... just ask about pricing for non-dog/cat care Rabbits Guinea pigs Geckos Iguanas Turtles Fish Tanks Cats Dogs Ponies I seek to charge feasible rates, and only a small fee for additional pets. This is what I want in a fellow pet sitter, and that is what is fair! Texts and pics sent through the Rover app. Please read this in its entirety before requesting a booking. I define my services as follows (in line with Rover's expectation, but clarified)... House VISITS: 30-35 minute visits at pet's home taking care of any needs of the pet(s); 5 min additional for each additional covered pet. House SITTING: 24 hour period includes care spread over 3 to 4 long visits as the owner requests. Mail service / Trash service / Poop scooping / Security-Lighting are offered as part of this service! I also like to leave the house as I found it: brushing dog, shaking out bedding, sweeping, etc). I *DON'T* typically spend the night. Dog WALKING: in home visit with focus being on a long walk (indoor play if raining hard). I am a married lady with 2 children ages 12 & 15. My one child that likes to care-takes with me has been raising trained in handling (both by me and 3 professional trainers over the years) since she was three years old - she's a natural. I have been taking care of dogs and other animals since I was a young child myself. I promote adopting animals & rescues from animal organizations, shelters, accidental pet owners ;) I am trained in basic medical care and comfortable giving medication (topical, oral, injection). Once booked, be sure to complete the dog owner profile including your contact information, emergency contacts, care information, and veterinarian. I take my duties serious and am reliable, but life happens and like to share that I have my husband and another dog-sitter friend are my built-in back-up sitter should something arise where I can't make it; Rover also provides back-up sitters if an emergency arose so your pet is always covered! For dog owners: Basic dog rules is second nature to us. We are comfortable with following training you have in place like no jumping, sit, down, "release" words. Snuggles after if they are up for that, too!
Reviews
April was great! She ensured I was kept up to date on my senior kitty and asked questions to ensure a deep understanding of how I take care of my cat. She was transparent about her schedule and experience as well. I will definitely book April again if we need a cat sitter.
Went above and beyond!
Great sitter for my two dogs. Great reports and pictures of my dogs daily. She went over and above what was required, vacuuming the house of the dog hair for me, my shepherd sheds bad this time of the year. ! Highly recommend her and would use her again if the need arises.
April is the best pet sitter I’ve ever had!! She brings treats permitted by owner to the fur babies and plays always. She keeps everything clean and goes above and beyond every visit!! She is attentive and makes sure my pups are always happy and taken care of!!

Safety, trust & environment
- I seek to be a calm and assertive leader. - I would prefer you to be upfront about video cameras on the premises; I don't like being videotaped for personal safety and privacy of myself/children, but I understand that pet owners use these to keep an eye on their animals so I'm okay with it if we know ahead of time. - For pet sitting stays, I like to tidy up before my job ends so that you can walk in to a home that you can spend time connecting with your pet & recharge in upon arrival.
Information April K. would like to know about your pet
For the safety of ourselves, your pet, and other pets... I will only walk Pit-Bulls, German shepherds, Chow-Chows, or Chihuahuas with specialty walking collars or harnesses that include a back-up collar. Any leash or dog aggressive dogs should have prong collars and/or muzzles available for walking on depending on dog personality. There could be an additional charge for the time and care required for extra care to ensure safety. We must decline caring for dogs that are nippy, pushy, aggressive with humans.
A typical day
We are a family that loves animals so your pets are like a part of the family... they attention, affection, play, training to teach expectations on following basic commands (if known, like sit - stay - lay down).

Availability
Available most days 8:00am - 9:00pm at night for drop in visits. I ask that you provide your pet with 3 visits a day, at least if you want me to care for them to ensure potty breaks, mental stimulation, physical activity, and well checks. Therefore, if you are out of town, please book as a "stay" rather than drop-in visit.
