Pet care experience
My name is April. I am one of 6 children and have lived in Auburn for 18 years. We rescued a lot of animals when I was growing up. My Dad seemed to always find the animals that needed a home but didn't have one; Which made for an interesting and exciting childhood. Besides taking care of special needs children my other job is taking care of "fur babies" as so many of my clients refer to their most precious pets:) I have been doing pet sitting on a regular basis for going on 11 years now and it is something I absolutely adore doing. Most of my clients usually hire me for overnight care when they go on vacation or when they have last minute business trips as I always try to accommodate people because life gets hectic and unpredictable. It is important to know you can leave your pets and your home with a trustworthy, loving, responsible person. I'm that girl :) I've taken care of a variety of breeds when it comes to doggies from tea cup poodles, to Australian Shepherds, Labs, Collies, and everything in between. Although I prefer medium to smaller dogs as I’ve had a few experiences with other breeds that have left me anxious. Some of the other animals I have taken care of include cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, reptiles not including snakes, chickens, and fish. Tending to all their needs from feeding, brushing, and daily exercise to administering medication/tending to surgery sites if required. Some of my other duties have been but are not limited to: *watering plants/gardens *picking up mail, newspaper, and packages from p. o. boxes *light duties to maintain property I usually have a set price per job on a daily not hourly basis. I love what I do and I love the relationships I have formed with my clients but most importantly their "fur babies" throughout the years. Working with animals is one of the most rewarding jobs I have ever had the privilege of doing. April was a great pet/house sitter. We have two elderly dogs who need a lot of care. April looked after all of their needs and made sure they were cared for and loved. She even had to jump in the pool to save Gus who had fallen in! Our house was spotless when we got home. April is a lovely woman and we were thankful to have her stay with our precious pups.
April was trusted with the care of our energetic border collie for 3 years. April is reliable, trustworthy, and will care for your pet as if he or she was her own. Our dog is selective about who he likes, and he warmed up to April quickly. She was able to perform all aspects of pet and home care and adapted to our dog's training protocols. She was incredible and anyone who lets her love their pets will be impressed.
April is a very responsible and reliable pet sitter. She took care of our entire brood (2 cats, 2 lizards (with very different needs!) and dog while we traveled out of the country for almost 2 weeks. Our cats have special needs with special diets, and April navigated their feeding routine flawlessly. Caring for two very diverse reptiles (one a uromastyx and the other a crested gecko) could prove challenging to many, but not April. Again, she excelled at handlling their needs. Not only did she care for our furry and scaly friends, she took care of our home as well. She's very trustworthy and can analyze any problem and determine the best course of action. April's problem solving skills combined with her love and caring for all animals makes her the ideal pet sitter. I highly recommend her.
I have witnessed first hand how loving and responsible April is when it comes to caring for pets. She is active in the day to day responsibilities such as feeding, walking, and playtime. Your pet will definitely NOT feel neglected. She is also very tidy and will not leave a mess. She is respectful and follows directions. I think anybody would be highly satisfied with having her as a caregiver.
