Experienced professional pet-carer and dog walker

Pet care experience

Hello Rover browser! Thank you for taking a look at my profile and I look forward to receiving your enquiries and messages (and most of all to meeting yourselves and your fur-babies). I am an experienced professional pet carer and dog walker, independently insured and with a clean DBS check for your peace of mind. -A little about my personal history with dogs: I've grown up with dogs and they have been my closest of friends growing up. Since living in London I've not been able to get a dog of my own due to rental rules etc, so taking care of your dogs, cats or other fur babies is the best thing I can think of to spend my days. I'm very patient with figuring out what they need and want out of play and walks. -And me personally?: I love working out and running, so I'll have no problem keeping up with high energy dogs and taking them on brisk walks or runs if they require it, but equally patient with older, slower or shyer dogs. -My area: I'm based in Penge, South-London and include a 5 km radius as my encatchment area. I am willing to travel beyond this if it fits into my schedule, but this will be subject to a small fee to cover any extra travel costs. -Extra time on Stays Normally overnight stays finish at 9am. 1/2 days on top of this will incur a charge of £25, 1/4 day a charge of £15 COVID19 Updated Policies and Procedures: -What dogs can be walked and how +Dogs from coronavirus infected households may be walked but if doing so they must be walked after dogs from all other household +I am now allowed to do group walks as long as none of the dogs in the group comes from a Covid-Positive or suspected household that is self-isolating or in quarantine. We will need to agree on the process in advance including time and duration of walk / 30 min walks and 1 hour walks. -Walking the dog +I will walk the dog in the surrounding area of the owner’s home and only on a lead unless we arrange for a private and secure area for your dog to be off lead. I will not drive the dog to a location to walk if possible or if needed will disinfect the vehicle after every solo or group walk slot. I will maintain my social distance while walking, keep to quiet areas and won’t allow other people or pets to come into contact with the dog. +I will be using my own lead and will sanitise both it and the metal contact on the dog’s collar. Please let me know in advance if you prefer that I bring my own collar and/or harness as I may need to purchase to suit if my existing collars/harnesses are not suitable. if using my own collar/harness It will be only used for a single animal per day, will be stored in a sanitised bag/box before use and in a separate container after use. At the end of the day; the collars/harnesses will be washed 60 degrees before use the next day. +There will be no photos or tracking as I have beed advised not to handle my phone during the walk to avoid cross contamination, but I will send you a pup-date daily (at 6pm at the latest if unable to during the working day) with any relevant information. +I will not be touching the dog during the walk if possible. Regardless of any contact by myself or others I will mist the dog using a pet safe spray (Leucillin- a non-toxic, non irritating spray with infection control that has been recommended by vets and pet professionals) at the collection point. -Collection and Drop-off +I will collect and return the dog securely, in a way which maintains a two-metre distance between you and minimises any time spent in the owner’s home. In the event that the dog cannot be left outside of the home I will be either taking off shoes or using disposable shoe covers. I will minimise the dog’s contact with messy/muddy areas if at all possible to minimise my need to have contact with the dog for cleaning purposes. If you are able to prepare your dog’s pick-up/drop-off area to account for potentially dirty paws, please do so and let me know so that I can take this into account. -Personal Steps +I will wash hands with soap and water for 20 seconds before leaving my home and upon returning from any walks for the day. I will wear gloves for the duration of any contact and will dispose after each dog’s walk. I will also carry a hand-sanitising solution in the event that the gloves are compromised.

Very impressed! We were worried about leaving our elderly dog until we found April...We had daily updates to reassure us throughout the week that were very helpful to us. Came home to a very tidy home and a very happy dog! Thank you April??

April is such a nice person, and very professional. She took great care of our cat during our Christmas holidays making sure our pet had everything she needed (including medication) and gave us very detailed and reassuring updates. She made us feel very comfortable. We will definitely contact her again when we need a cat sitter.

It was lovely to meet April. She got on very well with my excitable puppies and their first walk looked like it was a hit! Will definitely book again

Information April B. would like to know about your pet

I don't have any preferences for breeds. I love them all. Would be happy to chat with you to discuss the dog's wants, needs and personality and meet with you and the dog (in a socially distanced manner) for a better impression of each other and know that they will be comfortable with me.

A typical day

I will happily take the dogs on walks in your area and make sure they are able to take a break from being inside and take their toilet breaks. Whether they are high energy or a bit shy or older, we can work out what they need.
