Experienced w/ both Cats & Dogs :)

Pet care experience

I grew up on a farm in Ireland surrounded by all kinds of animals. As a lifelong animal owner I have also been pet and animal sitting for friends, family and clients for over 12 years. Dogs, Cats, Chickens, Pigs, Fish, Frogs, Donkeys, Ponies and Horses I have fed, medicated and cared for them all. I am trustworthy and dependable and I will treat your fur baby just like my own. I'm not afraid of a little hard work or a nervous fur baby. As a Level 2 Reiki provider I know how to connect with animals on a spiritual energy level in a calm manner which in turns gains their trust and can help relax them if they are anxious while their owner is away. I am happy to administer medications and help with some training. All 3 of my cats can sit, high five, give the paw and meow on command. Yep.. Cats are smart! Two of them walk on a leash! I would love to be considered for all your pet and housesitting needs. I have never met an animal I didn't love. I am following all mask and Covid 19 guidelines at this time. I practice all proper mask, handwashing and sanitizing reccomendations during my stay. Working from home affords me a very flexible schedule. I am looking for pet owners in my local area that need a reliable caring drop in or full time care home & pet sittings. A 30min walk is included in overnights. I will clean up after the pets and myself, water plants, collect mail and take out trash if needed free of charge. I can provide services in your home where your pet is most comfortable. Please note that per Rover guidelines each overnight stay is for a period of 24 hours per night charge. If additional time is needed after an initial overnight there will be an additional "half daycare" or "full daycare" charge, the amount can be discussed at the meet and greet and will depend on the amount of hours/ pets and extras such as medications or special needs. PLEASE NOTE that Extended stay rates listed are charged per day for the entire stay per animal per night once the stay is over 7 days. This is due to my time being exclusively at your home and with your animals to cover my costs being unable to complete other walks and drop ins as usual. Drop In Only: Please note...my daily drop in rate plus 30min to hourly charges applies when a Drop in Only is requested with no overnight and those are listed in my service rates. Just click on Services. Exotic or farm animal care prices will vary depending on the animals. Please contact for pricing. I am not currently providing boarding services in my home but if this changes in the future I will update this section with the information required. Thanks you so much for your consideration and I hope to hear from you soon to schedule a 100% FREE 30 minute meet and greet with you and your pet. Thanks for looking and I look forward to meeting you and your fur babies! :)

Best pet sitter ever! Aoife was so wonderful with our senior rescue dog. He is fearful of new people but warmed up to her super fast. She took great care of him and our home while we were away. I really appreciated that she sent multiple updates and photos each day. Aoife is the best of the best!

If there we more stars Aoife would be 100 stars. Look no further for the best sitter as Aoife is the one. Aoife sent multiple videos and photos everyday on our 5 day trip to Cabo. On returning our house was cleaner than when we left, laundry and everything. Our little 18 Yr old Maltese was healthy and happy because Aoife cared for him so well. In our eyes she is an angel sent from heaven and now she is part of our family. Toby is still looking for her. I think he misses her already.

Aoife was absolutely wonderful. They provided regular updates, photos and videos throughout our trip. One of our dogs can take awhile to warm up to strangers and it did not take long for our pup to feel comfortable. Aoife took the the pups on daily walks and made sure the house was clean and orderly when we returned. They followed all of our directions and made sure my fish were fed as well. I had full confidence that Aoife was able to take care of our animals and allowed us to have peace of mind on our trip. Thank you so much for loving our fur babies as much as we do and providing a calming environment to let them feel safe and loved while we were gone. Will definitely hire again!

Aoife gave our dogs a luxury experience. They provided many updates and pictures. It made us feel like we weren’t too far from home. Having them take care of our home while we were away is priceless. We will definitely be reaching to Aoife again for future petsitting!

I love to spend quality time with the animals I care for and I make sure that I interact with them frequently such as playtime, treat time, feeding time, puzzles, relaxing time and walks if needed. During the meet and greet I try to get an idea of what the animals routine is from their owner so that I can mirror that as much as possible causing less anxiety and stress for the animals while they are in my care.

Information Aoife A. would like to know about your pet

I love every pets so I have no breed preference and accept all of them. Please let me know if your pet has any special needs, separation anxiety, medications, requirements in their diet or triggers you are aware of. IMPORTANT: Please note under no circumstances will I use a shock, smell emitting, pinch or prong collars on dogs for walks even if these are the only ones you own. Please purchase a new collar and train or have your dog trained by a professional to walk on another collar prior to my stay/visit. A scared or startled dog can pull and damage their trachea or worse. Most experts advise against aversive tools for walking and training, as they can cause more harm than good. Not only can they injure a dog, but they also stand to halt any training progress. A front-clip harness, head collar, or martingale may be suitable alternatives for training. What I recommend : A basic flat buckle collar lays flat against your dog’s neck and provide an attachment for securing ID and rabies tags. Even if your dog already wears a harness for walking, using a flat collar to hang their identification is still a good idea. Waterproof or rubber collars are good for walks with dogs who like to explore water, they wash off dirt and mud quickly and do not hold smell, while not for everyday use as they can rub sensitive skin they are great for wet rainy muddy walks. Martingale collars, composed of two loops of fabric, these tighten slightly when dogs pull or attempt to break away. They help prevent escape artists from backing out of a collar. Also ideal for dogs with slender heads that are smaller than their necks like Greyhounds, Whippets, and other sighthounds. They can offer gentle control while communicating corrections with your dog through the leash. However, they’re not the best choice for relentless pullers who may fare better with a no-pull harness. Working with a professional trainer can help determine if your dog is a good candidate for a head collar. Plus, they can offer guidance on proper sizing, how to put it on correctly, and how to use this type of equipment safely. A head collar won’t work for every dog, though, and should be avoided with dogs with neck injuries or those at risk of tracheal collapse. Head collars are similar to a horse halter. Two loops of fabric go over a dog’s neck and snout. They offer gentle yet effective control for big dogs who pull.
