Pet care experience
As a kid, I had two wishes: 1) That a golden retriever would fall from the sky into my arms to love and care for. 2) To have 10 dogs as a grown up. I remember my elation when my parents brought home our first dog, Beatrice, the boxer puppy (turns out the breed did not matter to me). Since childhood I have become a little more realistic and fully appreciate the responsibility of one (let alone 10) dogs. I happily give all of the love I can to the dogs I am fortunate enough to care for. My experience: I am an attentive, non-smoking, trustworthy professional with 15+ years of experience caring for animals, dogs specifically. I especially enjoy caring for senior and special needs dogs. I have experience caring for dogs with amutations, back injuries, loss of bladder/bowel control, loss of hearing, and serious illnesses. I volunteered at a pet shelter in college which lead me to fostering dogs while obtaining my bachelors in Biology. I take animal health and saftey very seriously. I am certified in dog and cat first aid through the American Red Cross, am knowledgeable regarding foods and plants toxic to dogs. Additionally, spent time working and training at a local dog daycare where I learned the tendencies and needs of different dog breeds. My location: I will travel to your location to care for your pet. I am also close to the Detroit River Walk for easy access to safe, long walks full lots of sniffing and investigating! I will be sure to take a cute photo of your dog to show you all the fun they are having. Every dog is unique with a special personality and caring for them brings me so much joy! I hope to care for yours soon!
Reviews
I can't say enough great things about Annie! She was prompt, responsive, accommodating, friendly, and most importantly, an outstanding host for our special-needs lab. Annie took all of our special requests in stride. I would highly recommend her to a friend, and look forward to enlisting her assistance in the future.
Annie was great, and our dog loved her! We were able to enjoy a weekend trip, and know our pup was in good hands!
Annie is such a dog lover! She is great with our 5 year old hound mix, who is sometimes a leash puller (and also a huge snuggler). Annie is responsible and professional, I'd highly recommend her to care for your pup!
Annie has cared for our dog Osito for the past three years. She is incredible. She genuinely loves dogs. Osito is a three legged dog with significant back problems and Annie has been an amazing pet sitter for him in the times when he was well to now when he is almost paralyzed. She loves and cares for him as if he is her own dog and he loves her so much! Annie is very capable of working with high energy dogs walking them miles and miles as well as older dogs who need medication and an advanced level of care. There is no one more generous, caring and kind to care for your pet. I would highly recommend Annie!

Information Annie L. would like to know about your pet
Since each dog has a unique personality and set of needs, I will make sure to know the following: How would you describe your pet's personality? How is your pet with other dogs on walks i.e. are dogs free to approach if friendly? Does your dog tend to jump or lunge on walks? Does your pet prefer to sleep inside or out of a crate? How old is your dog? What kinds of allergies does your dog have? What is your pet's favorite game?
A typical day
Dogs especially love walking along the Detroit River Walk. There is plenty of grass and exciting smells with paved sidewalks and pathways walled with trees, wildflowers and flowing water. I am happy to go on jogs with any dog who requires a bit more cardio. I have a large living room which is great for playing hide and seek, tug-of-war, and fetch. For an extra fee, I can brush and bathe your dog if they are comfortable having that done.
