I am a NAPPS (National Association of Professional Pet Sitters) and Fear Free Certified pet sitter. I have been the guardian for many pets, ranging from cats and dogs to hamsters, turtles, and parakeets, for decades. I have experience caring for all ages of felines and canines from young puppies and kittens, to senior cats and dogs with medical issues. I currently have three large dogs and two cats, and I foster dogs for several local rescue groups. I'm a very active outdoorsy person and I love to run with my dogs canicross-style. I would be more than happy to take your high-energy pup for a run on the trails in Patapsco if you so wish. While I am not a professional dog trainer or behaviorist, I have acquired a lot of knowledge about canine behavior and positive rewards based training methods by reading books and participating in online training courses and I put that knowledge in practice with my own dogs and foster pups daily. I am also a member of a local dog rescue's behavioral training team working alongside with professional behavior consultants with shelter dogs. If you have any concerns about some behavioral aspects of your dog, I may be able to give you some suggestion of how to work through the problem and also work with your pup while I care for them.
