4+yr surgical vet assistant -> SAHM

Pet care experience

Hi! I am a former surgery trained vet assistant who is now a stay at home mom. I have worked with dogs, cats, pocket pets of all sizes and have even owned dogs, bunnies, turtles, chickens, hamsters, gerbils, and fish. So you could say I’m a seasoned pro. I have worked in the vet field for 4+ years but animal care for 10+ years including being a foster coordinator and fostering many pets. I would love to babysit your fur babies and have baby sat many friends/coworkers/strangers pets. I am trained in triaging emergency care of animals so trust me when I say you fur baby will be in the best hands. I also have two pets of my own who are crate trained and sleep most of the day.

Our red heeler gets some serious separation anxiety. Anna (and family) were patient and kind. I really appreciated knowing she was well taken care of while we were away.

Anna was so great with my 7 week puppy! She went over the top by cleaning his ears because she saw that they were dirty and she clipped his nails. She sent me photos and video and answered all my questions. Super happy with my experience and appreciate that Anna went above and beyond for my Vincent.

Anna did a wonderful job taking care of our three wiener dogs for 11 days. She responded quickly to my initial contact and all subsequent planning communications. She allowed me to bring my dogs by her home and spend time in her fenced backyard so they would be a little familiar with it before they stayed there. She allowed our dogs to become part of her family, while they were in her home. She also sent me photos while we were away.

I have a routine with the dogs and allow them to free roam in my house so they are comfortable. I treat all animals like they are my babies. My daughter is very gentle with pets. So even if your pet doesn’t like children I would say let’s try it out. Many owners have told me their pet does not like children and have done very well in my house.

Information Anna T. would like to know about your pet

Any health issues weather that be small or big (joints hurt when they go up stairs, ear infections, etc). Things they don’t like; I do not judge weather that be sometimes doesn’t like other dogs, sometimes anxious, nippy with food. I will never judge but I do like open communication. This doesn’t mean I will not babysit your dog but I do like to set up a plan so all dogs can be comfortable weather that be crate and rotate, feed separately, give them access to their own area that they can be alone in if they are too stimulated.

A typical day

A typical day for the pets under my care is wake up to tons of belly rubs and then a brisk walk outside to do their business, then all the pets get breakfast. We have many puzzle bowls or slow feed to stimulate their mind. We typically like to then let them outside to either lounge or run around the yard. We throw the ball or hide treats for them to find. We also do have foam “ agility “ mats that I sometimes make into a ramp or tunnels they can run through (depending on size). This obviously depends on each dog. Some dogs like to do certain things some don’t. I never push a dog to do something he/she doesn’t like but I do like to challenge their mind and stimulate it. I find it keeps the dog much more happier.

I am currently a stay at home mom who rarely leaves the house so your pet will be able to free roam the house and have as many potty breaks he/she would like. We also have a fenced yard where many pets like to hang.
