Active dog-lover!

Pet care experience

Im currently a graduate student in the Animal Assisted Social Work program at the University of Denver. I love spending time with animals and have enjoyed sitting through Rover starting this past summer when I was caretaking full time. I am active and enjoy taking energetic dogs on long walks and hikes. I'm also flexible and am happy to accommodate any health issues or odd timings for work! Hosting and walking dogs is my pleasure and I feel lucky to offer care to anyone who needs it! I will be getting my own dog in July and undergoing animal assisted therapy training so any time spent with pups is wonderful practice for me! Additionally, I promise to send pictures of your dogs until my phone storage is full!

Anna was our first Rover dogsitter and she watched our pup for 5 days. She did such a wonderful job! She was super flexible with drop-off/pickup times and very responsive to texts and messages. She sent us some nice updates and pictures, which helped us feel comfortable and know he was in great hands! Lots of walks and a trip to the dog park too ?? would definitely recommend Anna and we hope to rebook with her for our next Rover experience!

Unfortunately, I had to fly the very next day to Florida for a family emergency. So I didn't have time to thoroughly search and interview many pet sitters. I came across Anna J.'s profile on Rover and she seemed trustworthy and had many good reviews with happy photos of several pets. She responded quickly to my inquiry. We had the meet and greet, although I had a weird sinking hunch my husband dismissed my intuition. I should have listened to my gut feeling. Everything went absolutely Wrong very quickly once my kitten and senior dog was in Anna's care. One of the worst things had happened during the care of a pet sitter, Anna LOST my cat! Apparently, Anna's home is not fit to care for a cat, or any animal for that matter. According to Anna, my cat "fell" through her "broken window screen". How could she care for a pet knowing that her house and it's window screens are not secure? Coincidentally, I warned Anna during the meet and greet that my kitten is shy and likes to hide at times, and as most cats she likes to burrow in small spaces with curiosity. The incident was so terrifying that my husband refused to tell me what had happened during my trip to visit my father who had suffered a stroke. He knew the horrible news would have devastated me; I was dealing with so much as it was. Alisse, my 9 months old kitten was lost and hungry in the streets for 4 DAYS. Luckily, my husband found Alisse trapped underneath a house porch. Otherwise she would have starved to death, because she was stuck in a tight spot and couldn't come out thus crying all night and alarming the house owner. The owner of the house had to tear apart the wooden patio in order for my husband to be able to reach with his whole body to grab our scared kitten. In spite of it all, I have to give credit to Rover for helping my husband look for Alisse. Rover has a great customer service team that will provide assistance in cases like this. They helped by creating flyers and reporting the lost pet to many helpful Lost Pet sites and keeping in touch with the search progress. They also gave us a $50 credit, in addition to, of course, our refund. Overall, this was a very scary situation that could have turned to the worst if it wasn't for my determined husband and kind neighbors (the house owner refused to accept money for the patio damages.) Warning, please think twice before you book with Anna J.
