Top Five Things to Know About Me: 1. I have a BA and an MS in biology. My studies have focused largely on animal behavior and anthrozoology (relationships between humans and animals). 2. I currently work as a professional wildlife care specialist and provide care for all types of critters including bobcats, foxes, and coyotes! 3. My educational background and personal experiences with rescue dogs and cats make me adept at respecting the different comfort levels and traumas animals with difficult pasts often have. 4. I have more than a decade of experience caring for pedigreed pups, mutts, and cats of all shapes and sizes. From informal house-sitting gigs throughout highschool and college to working weekends with a respected doggy daycare facility in Philadelphia. 5. I know how to manage dogs that nearly outweigh me, pique the interest of working-breed dogs, and settle dogs with severe separation anxiety. I also know how to respect the varied boundaries of cats with all manner of personalities.

I know that your pet's trust is earned, not given, and I'm more than willing to work to build a great relationship. Patience, caution, and careful attention to body language are all skills I use to make sure your pet is feeling safe and loved while they're in my care.

It’s important that I have all the information I need to keep your pet healthy and happy. Please let me know if there are any triggers (like skateboards or bigger dogs) that might set your pup off or if specific noises or movements are triggering to your cat. I do require a meet and greet prior to providing any dog care, both for your pup’s comfort and my own safety.
A typical day
Enrichment is an important part of every creature’s day. For us it might be picking up a latte with a new flavor or spending time with a colleague or friend. For your pup I like to try variations to their normal walking routes, working on good walk behavior with small rewards mixed in, and ensuring they have plenty of time to stop and smell the roses (or the favorite pee tree!) in your local park. For cats I like to spend time playing with their favorite toys, sharing treats (approved by you!) or even just sitting together. Many cats just appreciate company but aren't interested in snuggles or play time.

Availability
I work Tuesday & Thursday-Saturday 7am-5pm so am limited to early mornings or evenings on those days. I am usually fully available on Sunday, Monday, & Wednesday.
