Hi! I am a graduate student at NYU, getting my masters in food studies. I have lived with dogs my entire life and I volunteered at an animal shelter in Washington, DC throughout high school. The summer after my freshman year of college, I worked at the same shelter as a receptionist for the medical center which has provided me with a lot of knowledge about canine health and wellness. I also spent a semester of college in northern India, studying the interactions between the large street dog population and the individuals and organizations within the community. My research resulted in a 60-page paper exploring various narratives about the state of stray dogs in Dharamsala, India. Since college I spent a year in Nepal on a Fulbright scholarship, a year teaching middle school in DC, and a year working on farms around Europe and west Asia. One of the farms I worked on was an animal sanctuary, and I cared for sick and injured dogs daily. Dogs have continued to play a HUGE role in my life, so I take any opportunity to interact with them.
