Pet care experience
Hi! I'm a UConn undergraduate student studying Cognitive Science with a specialization in Animal Cognition. I was drawn to this because I, like most, want to know exactly what my dog is thinking and feeling. Needless to say, I love dogs! I currently live in a high-end apartment close to the UConn Storrs campus. My family has owned one dog in my life, a Shiba Inu named Yuka, and I love her with my whole heart. She currently lives at home with my parents, but I cared for her for 3 years before I moved away. In addition, I worked at PetValu for 1 year so I have knowledge of dog care items, such as brands and nutrition. Overall, I am a gentle lover and would love to love your dog for you while you cannot!

Important information to know before meeting a dog would be if they are afraid of anyone (male, female, etc) or anything (loud noises, cars, etc) and the best way to greet your dog, as all dogs are different in their preferences to meeting new people. Other important information would be any habits your dog has that I may need to be aware of and friendliness with other dogs, incase we encounter another dog on a walk.
A typical day
On a stay or visit, your dog can enjoy actives such as cuddles, TV, walks, runs, grooming, treats, car rides, meeting human and dog friends and whatever else your dog enjoys; all and any of your dog's favorite things!
