Before caring for a dog, it's important I know of any special needs the dog has, medications it takes, and any behavioral quirks that could be an issue during regular activities like walks. I also like to learn a bit about the dog's regular routine and preferences. Dogs thrive with structure and a routine, so I like to adhere to whatever routine they are already accustomed to.

With the dogs I watch, I play various interactive games, depending on which ones the dog enjoys most. Catch, chase, tug of war, hide and seek, and treat-based puzzle games are all fun ways to stimulate and entertain dogs during playtime! On my walks, I enjoy exploring the local residential neighborhoods, staying mostly on sidewalks and smooth terrain. For more adventurous exercise, I head to the foothills of Brand Park just up the road from my home. It's a hidden gem with amazing views, various terrains, and not too many people. Or, Lower Arroyo Park. I love taking dogs there and exploring the various trails. For playtime with other dogs, I love going to Griffith Dog Park. It's one of the better free dog parks in LA, with its well-maintained grounds and friendly regulars, and it's less than 10 mins away.
