I got my first dog when I was 7, and a short while later saw a dog show at the fair where the trainer had taught the dogs to jump through hoops, up and onto his back, and catching toys out of the air. Naturally as soon as I got home I had to teach my dog to be as incredible! I have had 12 dogs in my life (we had a pack of 10 at one time), and seen a lot of different personalities. I have successfully worked with both large and small dogs, from a 90lb German Shepherd to a 9lb Chihuahua. Through 4-H I was the teen leader of the Dog Care and Training project, which I ran for two years until I aged out of 4-H. I have had training of canine CPR. I had a German Shepherd-Weimaraner cross for a while that required being ran for a couple miles a day to be ok. I have no problem loading up my bike and running your dog if your dog needs to be run rather than walked, though I prefer good old fashioned walking the dog.
