Pet care experience
I have been a pet-sitter and dog-walker for many years now, starting way back when I was a kid, and I have been sitting professionally with Rover since 2016. I just really love dogs, cats, and all animals as well. Because of my other work as an intuitive healer, I also practice the art of animal communication, which gives me the advantage of being able to connect and communicate with your pet on a deeper level, and to help them get their needs met more efficiently. I can help them understand that their guardian is away, but that they are safe and will be well taken care of until you return home. I am also a holistic nutritionist and have an eye on animal health and well-being as well as human health. I have done many first aid courses over the years, and am well equipped to handle emergencies, should one occur (though we hope not, of course!). I also have extensive experience caring for senior pets, special-needs pets, and puppies. When we go for walks, your dog will love knowing that I'm as excited about it as they are! I am a very active person and love exploring the outdoors in the company of dogs. Rain or shine, we will have a great time. If you have cats or other pets, I will spend time playing with them with their favorite toys, and giving them loving attention. I also create personalized portraits of your pets in watercolor pencil. Ankke did a drop in visit to meet our small elderly dog Ralph. Ralph can be shy around new people, and Ankke was very sweet and gentle with him, and Ralph clearly liked her! He was much calmer than usual when meeting a new person, and Ankke seemed very tuned in to him. We’re looking forward to having Ankke spend more time with Ralph in the future!
This was the first time we had someone come into our home to take care of our dogs. My husband and I were very nervous since we were traveling out of the country. Ankke was so kind, compassionate, and accommodating in meeting our "first timers needs". My two dogs loved her and they were very happy in Ankke's care. She provided excellent communication and we loved the pictures. We highly recommend Ankke.
Ankke was wonderful, managing our household of 4 cats and one 4 month old puppy while we were on vacation for a week. She communicated daily, sending pictures, and with any questions for clarity on care. She is great with animals and people too!
Ankke was on time. Sent texts to keep us informed. Walked and cared for our two large dogs. They were happy when we returned. The house was clean.

I like all breeds, so long as the dog or cat is generally friendly. I am very good at being sensitive to and handling timid dogs, but can also manage slightly more aggressive dogs. I like to know if they have any medical conditions or if they require any medications or other special care. If I am sitting for them, it is best for me to know their general feeding, sleeping, and walking times, so that I can best accommodate their usual daily patterns. I usually request a written care itinerary as that helps me remember all the details.
A typical day
For dogs, I'll generally research your area to see what sort of parks and/or hiking trails are nearby and we will go explore! (Unless you have a predetermined route that you prefer us to stick to). If your dog likes playing with a ball or frisbee, we can bring that along to play with too. If they like playing in the house or yard, we will do that too. They'll get treats according to your preferences and specifications. For cats, depending on what they like and how outgoing they are or not, I'll play with them and their favorite toys, and give them attention and snuggles.

Availability
I work from home online and over the phone, so I'll be with your pet(s) most of the day, unless I need to go run some errands or have a quick meet-up with someone outside of the house. I generally make my own schedule, so with enough notice, I can accommodate your pet's usual walking/feeding/playing times in between what I need to do for my other business.
