Pet care experience

***Our sweet pup, Scout tore her ACL. We will not be accepting any canine visitors until she is fully recovered from surgery. Thank you for your understanding!*** We are experienced with puppies, senior dogs, pets with medical needs, and dogs with anxiety. Anja cared for a cat with diabetes for years and we both have cared for senior dogs. Our dog, Scout has anxiety and we understand the importance of making a dog feel comfortable. We only board dogs from one household at a time, so we can treat all guest pups like they are our own and give them the attention they deserve. We have a 4 year old female 75 lb mixed dog. She loves all dogs, small or big. She will actively play and cuddle with interested dogs. However, she will leave dogs alone that are disinterested in her.

Anja and Will watched our 1 year old pup, Penny, for a week while we were on vacation. It was our first time leaving her with a sitter, so we were very anxious choosing someone for the job. Anja and Will were so wonderful. We did a meet and greet first, which helped put me at ease. During the stay, I received (many) daily updates, which I always appreciate! Penny and their dog, Scout, were best friends the entire time, which was sooo cute in the pictures they sent me! I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a sitter and will definitely be using them again!

Toby, our extremely energetic pit/terrier mix, had an amazing time with Anja, William, and their sweet dog Scout! We often have a hard time finding a sitter for Toby since he is so high energy and can be too much for other dogs but Anja and William were so accommodating and Scout made fast friends with Toby. We received several videos of Toby and Scout playing together and we knew that Toby was having a good time while we were away. He got walks daily, ate his food, and got lots of play time. If Anja and William can handel our crazy pup, they can handle any dog! They were really great and we would recommend them to anybody!

Anja and William watched our almost 5 yr old dog Athena for a week. They kept us in the loop the entire time updating us with pictures and videos of Athena. Athena seemed comfortable and relaxed the entire time which really helped our anxieties about leaving her. We appreciated Anja and William taking such good care of our girl and giving her a fun week of meeting new friends. We definitely recommend their services and will definitely be using them again.

We ask that you disclose any history of aggression towards people or dogs. We are willing to work with dogs that have manageable and minor food/toy aggression that can be accommodated. At this time, we are not taking unfixed male dogs that frequently hump. Our dog Scout is a female and becomes very stressed when large dogs persistently hump her. If you have an unfixed male puppy or small dog, we are still open to meeting. Lastly, we are not able to take dogs that are not potty-trained or like to mark territory inside. We are willing to work with puppies that are still in training and we of course understand accidents happen when dogs are in a new environment.

A typical day

Walks usually occur during the morning, afternoon, and evening. The dogs are free to play inside or outside throughout the day. Our house is filled with dog beds, toys, and chewing bones that all dogs are welcome to use. We have at times taken guest dogs for hikes or to swim in a pool, but that would be permitting we discuss it in advance.

Will works from home full time and Anja is a graduate student. We are very active with our dog, Scout. We go for daily walks, as well as make trips to the dog park and local trails for hikes. We have a yard that is small, but big enough for potty breaks and rounds of fetch. Typically, visiting dogs get 2-3 walks a day, around breakfast, lunch, and dinner time. We are able to let the dogs out in the yard for potty breaks in between as needed.
