I smell like I give belly-rubs
Pet care experience
I've taken care of friends pets since I was little. At their height my friend's family had goldfish, guinea pigs, birds, 3 dogs, 3 cats, a salamander and a chameleon. These I took care of when they were out of town, checking their food, and (for the dogs) staying for hour long stints to make sure they got love and attention. I have been commended by my friends for being a loving but firm hand that won't let bad behavior slide and will reward good behavior with all the love and pets a dog is willing to let me give them. As we rent, my ability to have pets is limited. As such I give lots of love and attention to the pets of my friends and schedule time when I visit to devote to their pets. I have also recently completed Volunteer training for the Long Beach Animal Care services and am currently working on a steady schedule to help the animals in their care. At the moment we rent so I am not able to take care of animals in my own home. As to a client's home I will defer to owners rules and be firm about it. Some pets are not allowed on furniture, others are. Some are strictly outdoor pets, others strictly indoor. Whatever the needs and boundaries set for that pet I will keep in place.

Anita was amazing! My dog has anxiety and is a little rascal but Anita was awesome! My dog loved her so much!! Definitely recommend!!!
This was my first time leaving my puppy, and for 7 hours to be exact. Anita was amazing, starting with a meet-and-great at our local park. Antia kept note of the information I was sharing about my puppy and exhibited that throughout the day of the pet sitting. She sent tons of pictures (which I LOVED), took my puppy to the park and walks multiple times, fed her dinner and treats, and had playtime. She makes sure to display your rules and training. I would definitely recommend Anita, and I will be using her in the future. Thank you Anita!!
Anita was a wonderful sitter for my dog and two cats. She was gentle yet firm with a playful puppy and took great care of her throughout the day. Anita is clearly an animal lover and I would highly recommend her to anyone needing pet sitting. I will be booking with her again in the future!
Anita is amazing with both my kids and pets! We met her when she worked at the preschool both our girls went too. She has babysat and watched our animals which we have not entrusted to many. She has been such a reliable and compassionate dog and babysitter. Whenever she comes over she’s immediately engaged with our dog giving her all the attention and love she wants. We have been so thankful to have Anita in our lives, she is so good with kids and clearly a pet lover, we miss her dearly!

It all depends on the two clients I have, the owner and the pet. I love dogs and love to fawn over them and that is my primary mode of taking care of pets. But it's also important to enforce boundaries and I want my human clients to know I am available to give dogs love, but also to give them support. I have several dogs that get very excited when they see me, but they need to learn not to jump and listen to commands. So I let them know they need to calm down and sit before I pet them. And when they listen, that's when I give them lots of pets, belly-rubs and high-pitched praise.
Information Anita W. would like to know about your pet
Let me know how you want your dog to behave and what your boundaries are, in the house and out of it. Do you want me to give your dog a firm "No" if they approach other people? Do you want me to steer clear of people? How do you usually handle barking? (had a 30lb elderly dog who was surly and felt the need to bark at other dogs, the owner told me they were fine with me holding their muzzle, picking them up and carrying them away) What are your house rules? Where is your dog allowed to go? What do you usually say to your dog to let them know they're misbehaving? What do you say to your dog to let them know you're happy with them, and how do you say it? What is your dogs' energy level? If they need exercise but are reluctant, what are some things you usually do? (consistency is king!) And of course, what's a cool thing about your dog that you want me to know?
A typical day
I will make sure your dog feels safe and ready to play. I like to go on walks myself, and best place to walk is a beautiful park. That would be my destination for your dog as southern California sunny days can make concrete walks a no-go for dogs. My favorite spot is El Dorado park, which has acres of grassy areas for on-leash walks, and a dog park for off the leash fun.

I'm currently working part-time so my schedule is wide-open. I like to volunteer at my local animal shelter in the afternoons so I can give the dogs ice-cube treats.
