Those Paws Are Made For Walking!
Pet care experience
Hi! My name is Aniah, and I have had a love for pets ever since I was a little girl. Growing up, my family home was not equipped to have a dog long term, and I was too young for the responsibility myself. So, I constantly did research on all kinds of dog breeds, read many books, and watched all of the doggy shows I could. My love for dogs was unfailing, and my desire to have one was quenched one November day in 2013. When I was 14, I accidentally became a pet parent. One day, our neighbor came to my doorstep with a tiny, brown puppy with the most squared head when he was a couple weeks old. Our neighbor informed us that his mother had been poisoned, so she could not nurse him. I named him Box because his head was squared like a box, and for a few weeks that was his home, LOL. And might I add, he was quite the escape artist! Box has a very feisty temperament, and he swear he is a human. His personality is what made me fall even deeper in love with doggies. I see them as more than just creatures with four legs, but crafty little, unique individuals with minds of their own. I also have experience with medium to large size dogs. A couple days after my high school graduation, my mom rescued the cutest Boxer-Pitbull puppy named Storm. My mom had named him Storm because she felt that the situations in her life were coming to an end, and she proclaimed that,"The storm is over now." About 9 months later, she passed away sadly. We had Storm for two years, and he was full of energy. Although he had a bark that he barely used that sounded like thunder, he had the sweetest disposition. Storm also had the warmest brown eyes, and the most gracious hugs. After my mom passed, I had to move to the DFW area and could not bring my dogs. So, Box stayed with some relatives and Storm stayed with a family friend. Unfortunately, Storm passed away this year as well, but his memory, energy, and smile lives on in my heart. Having two dogs at the same time was a big responsibility. It was a lot of late nights and early mornings. A lot of potty runs and breaking up fights over food. Not only was it a lot of responsibility, but it was a lot fun and laughs! With my puppers, I walked them, fed them twice daily, groomed them, and played with them as much as I could. I live in apartment complex, so it is very expensive to own a dog outright; therefore, being a Rover affiliate would fulfill my want to have an emotional support dog that can provide the same affection that Storm and Box did for me and my family. Storm and Box were not only my pets, they were my family. Therefore, I will take care of your fur babies as if they were my very own because I have experienced first hand the impact that the loyal companionship and memories that having pets can bring. Therefore, I hope you trust me with your pets, and I will treat them like my very own!
