[UPDATE] My new schedule is much more limited and consistent. I now work 10h shifts 4 days a week: 10am-8pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. While I'm sad that I won't be available for as many opportunities now (especially sittings), I'm still happy to continue my pet care whenever I can fit it in. On my work days, I could fit in a half-hour service on my way home, depending on the location. If you are interested in receiving walks or visits that include these evenings, please reach out as soon as possible since I will only be able to accommodate one booking at a time. I may occasionally make exceptions and use PTO to accommodate requests, especially for shorter sittings with my regular clients. Please note that although I have a regular schedule, things may come up where I'm needed to cover other shifts or potentially help out for emergencies (but last-minute assistance is optional and I would not abandon necessary care I'm already committed to). Otherwise, my available days are Sundays, Mondays, and Thursdays. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me with any questions and to see if we may work something out!🙂

Safety, trust & environment

It is of course a huge venture of trust to let a stranger in your home and leave loved ones in their care. I fully recognize the weight of this decision, and this is a responsibility that I do not take lightly. I will be respectful of your home and you will find it the way you left it. I always keep in communication with my clients and they know that I am a very reliable sitter. If my profile says that I only send photo updates a certain percentage of the time, it is because I often send photo/video dumps efficiently over the phone. I always send pictures after every visit and throughout the course of all stays. Rates: My rates that I have carefully selected are raised in Rover, most significantly for sittings. This is to accommodate for the commission Rover takes from all services. Please note that Rover keeps at least a 20% cut for every service. So when it comes to sittings, I make significantly less despite the expensive rate owners are having to pay. For example: I decided to set a standard rate for myself of $65/night, and for me to make around that much for sittings, owners need to pay $80. Thank you for your understanding & if you have any questions please don't hesitate to message me.

Information Angela W. would like to know about your pet

In addition to the individual personality and preferences of your pet, it'd be great to know where everything I might use is located in the house (such as their leash, poop bags, toys, treats, food, dishes, litter boxes, cleaning supplies, any comfort items like a calming spray, etc.). Especially if I'm doing overnight sittings, it'd be helpful to get a feel for their routines like what times they eat, a treat time, if they do something right before bed such as a potty break, the setting in which they sleep like if all the lights are off, etc. Some pets might have a harder time with you away and so the more consistent we can make their day the better! If your pet has any special needs or health issues, I definitely want to know all about them and how to best care for him/her. As for walks, if your dog (or cat) has a potentially confusing harness, it'd be nice to get clarification on how it's properly worn. It would also be important to be made aware if your dog has any potential triggers. For example, if a squirrel were to run in front of us, is your dog the type to suddenly bolt after it? If your dog happens to be massive like a Great Dane, I want to make sure it's not a strong puller. For unsure cases, it'd be a good idea to do a meet-and-greet so I can get a feel for its strength and size and see if I'll be able to handle it for walks.

A typical day

Our typical day or activities we do will depend on what I learn about the individual animal from you or my own observations. Some pets constantly love to play with toys or walk around, while others wouldn't mind just snuggling and receiving pets all day long. Please tell me about your pet's personality and how he/she loves to spend the day! I personally love pouring gentle affection onto older pets, but I have no problem running around in the yard throwing balls for high energy dogs or having a busy play session with frisky cats. If you have go-to treats I may use I would really appreciate that, it feels great being able to hand out treats to boost a pet's mood. My Service Area: I am located in Mount Airy, Maryland (between Carroll County, Frederick County, Howard County, & Montgomery County). Beyond Mount Airy, I have frequently visited areas such as New Market, Green Valley, Monrovia, Damascus, Lisbon, Woodbine, Taylorsville, Harrisville, and Woodville. My current veterinary job is located in Frederick. I set my maximum range of miles from home to 15 miles within Rover so that I'm not closed off from opportunities to sit pets who are a bit farther away. However if you need more frequent & brief services like drop-in visits twice a day, I probably won't be willing to travel that far back & forth (unless I'm already in the area). If you are a farther distance from me I am most likely to accept if it's for overnight sittings, or for drop-in visits once in a while or every other day with flexibility on times (this is a common request for cat care). However, since I've spent a lot on gas due to it being so expensive, I've decided to start incorporating a mileage fee for distances farther than 10 miles from me. This will apply to my "current location" because sometimes I will have already made prior commitments to sit farther away, & visiting someone else's home during that time might demand extra travel even if they happen to be closer to where I live. Per visit, I will charge an additional fee of $5 for distances between 10 and 15 miles (10 ≤ X < 15), $10 for distances between 15 and 20 miles (15 ≤ X < 20), and $15 for distances between 20 and 25 miles (20 ≤ X ≤ 25). Sometimes I receive farther requests because they might be a shorter direct distance from me, but when I finally receive the address & put it in the GPS it turns out to be even farther due to the roads/routes available. FYI: I am unable to view your address until after you have approved of a request with me. I will apply mileage fees by modifying requests to include them (totaled up) under "extras and upgrades". I appreciate your understanding with this!

Pet care experience

I love caring for all kinds of animals! In addition to my years of pet care, I've worked at 3 different kennels in recent years which included dog walking, doggy daycare, care for German Shepherd rescues & police K9's, cat care, and some exotic care. I have experience with many different personalities, and I have experience administering medication, disinfecting messes, feeding various kinds of diets, and walking dogs from slow/old to strong/energetic. In 2024 I completed a veterinary assistant program. I am now working as a hospital concierge at a veterinary emergency and specialty center where I will have the opportunity to receive training to become a veterinary assistant. It is my absolute pleasure to give your pet(s) the best attention to ensure they’re as happy as possible while you’re away! My own pet family has consisted of... ●Buddy (wire fox terrier-poodle mix) ●Simba (orange tabby) ●Nala (tortie) ●Tex & Walker (orange tabby sisters) ●Hallie (large mutt) ●Fang (my pet corn snake!) Sadly our special old boys Buddy & Simba have passed but to me they will always be a part of the family💕

Angela was an excellent sitter for our dog, Kima. She was patient with Kima, who has anxiety, and was able to develop a friendship with her. Angela sent photos each day and communicated how Kima was doing. I highly recommend Angela.
