I love being around different animals, especially dogs since my family does not own a dog right now. My experience with dog sitting and dog walking started in 2003 when I met Loki. Loki was a Weimaraner, a unique breed. He was huge. I don't remember his exact weight. I weigh around 100lbs which means Loki could have dragged me through snow and cement with ease -- if he chose to. Of course, he was well trained. I loved walking with him. And we were a fascinating couple. Next to me, he looked like a giant. I am only 5 feet, 110lbs. I am small but it does not matter. I can always handle a well-trained dog. I'd say Vancouver is a dog town. :) Near my mom's house, even the cats walk around. It's a nice neighborhood with a lot of trees and marshlands. I worked for 7 years for Animal Allies in Alexandria, Virginia. There, I helped over a dozen cats find permanent homes, and I fostered many cats at my home in the meantime. That is where I adopted my cat Krinkle when she was five years old, who lived with me until the age of 16 when she died of a brain tumor. Krinkle was a cat abandoned despite being declawed. She did not do well on the outside, and either a cat or another animal hurt her badly. This meant that she had a hard time throwing up hairballs. Nevertheless, Krinlke and I grew very attached to each other, and I did not mind that she had a few health problems or temper problems. After all, had she not been abandoned before? She had a real fear of abandonment! She hated it whenever I had to go away for the weekend. I left her with friends, who complained that she mostly mopped around waiting for me to return. So I can certainly see how useful Rover.com would have been for me if I would have known about it. Or would it? Krinlke had a tendency to bite those who did not heed her warning meow. But when I wasn't around I could not warn people about her tendency to attack if they did not stop playing or petting her when she so nicely asked them to. I learned to differentiate between her meows fairly quickly, but this would not be as easy for someone who did not know her. Back in those days, I took Krinlke with me to Florida on vacation. I did not have anyone to look after her, and she was a chill kitty cat, in that she didn't mind being in a cage that much. After all, she was kept in a cage for two years before I met her, because she was too vicious to be left around other cats. She hated other cats, and would attack or frighten them. So when she moved in, I had to stop fostering. She was certainly worth it. From the beginning, she acted as if she was my cat and I was terribly flattered. Not only did we sleep on the same bed, but she positioned herself to sleep right in my arms, as a baby would. If I moved in my sleep, she moved also. She was courageous, curious, and unusually intelligent. She followed me everywhere. I found it irresistible! As long as I was around, she had no problem with change, which was great since I loved to move the furniture around, fairly often. Every time I moved somewhere, she adjusted right away. She never hid. She had too much courage for that. She loved anyplace as long as I was there. On the rare occasions that my friends got drunk and left the balcony door open, she would leave for a short time, eat some grass, and then come right back. If they closed the door, she'd stand outside meow to get our attention and wait for us to open the door. She was not an outdoor cat, so one time, she got confused and climbed to the 2nd floor, instead of the 3rd flood. When I heard someone meow outside and I could not find her, I walked out and saw Krinkle trying to get into my neighbor's apartment. My neighbor was not there. It was a girl who had taken the apartment from Airbnb and was on the phone with him. I hear her, ask him why there is a cat who keeps trying to get into her apartment all the time. Apparently, this had been going on for a while. It was lucky that I noticed Krinkle was gone and walked out just in time to explain what had happened. I am currently looking for a full-time job. However, most of my jobs are remote. I spend a lot of time reading, and the pets like to cuddle around me while I read or work on my computer. I have a yard, where your pet can play. It is not fenced off, but I love to garden, and I can keep him/her company, or take him for a walk. My home is quite large. He will not be bored playing here.
Reviews
Always love Angela to come house and dog sit, Tucker loves her!
Always takes great care of our dogs and cat. Communicative and ensures everything is going well with them.
Angela was great with my two dogs, Poppy and Sebastian. They're both very sensitive and get very nervous when we leave, but she handled it like a pro. Made them feel comfortable. Was communicative with us and made us feel like our dogs were in good, safe hands. When we got home the home was clean and the dogs were calm. I would definitely work with her again!
Always a pleasure to have her. She is very communicative and takes care of our pets needs. Go to sitter for as long as she will have us

Information Angela H. would like to know about your pet
I would like to know the dog's preferences. Does he like to be petted often? How long does he like to walk? How often? When does he wake up? Does he like to catch a ball? Does he prefer other games? When would be a good time to give him treats? What kind and how often? Does he like to sit in my lap? The more I know about the dog, the closer our relationship can become.
A typical day
I am willing to walk the dog wherever the owner instructs me. I also have a backyard, so I can take the dog or puppy to play outside. The backyard has a fence but it does not go arund. Even with an enclosed fence, I would not leave the dog unsupervised outside.

I have a lot of free time right, so I can pay close attention to what the dog does. I can take half an hour to an hour to play with the dogs, and make sure they are having fun. Dogs have a lot of energy usually. They need someone to play with them. I rarely leave the dogs alone for a long time. I know how much most dogs love to walk, so I would take them on a walk or several depending on the owner's preference and advice. Most of my side work requires reading and writing and many dogs after they exercise, play with a ball, enjoy sitting next to someone who is reading, or holding a computer to write.
