Pet care experience
My partner, our teenage son, and I are passionate about animal welfare. My partner works in IT and I am an independent social sciences researcher; we work from home most days. We speak Spanish, French, and English. At home, we listen to all genres of music (mostly jazz) and/or playing instruments. Our pets are taught commands and other words in Spanish and English -- mental, physical, emotional stimulation. I grew up at an urban farm in Latin America. I was raised valuing animal companionship; I grew up rescuing abandoned/ stray dogs and other small animals -- always providing love, care and procuring regular attention from a professional vet. My sister grew up to become a professional veterinary doctor (DMV); she's worked in collaborative projects with Veterinarians Without Borders, the Humane Society, and the GAAP. For the past 15+ years, we have fostered sick cats and kittens in Canada. All our previous pets (two special needs cats, and two dogs) were rescued. We loved and cared for them for many years until they passed away surrounded by love and gratitude. UPDATE: At the onset of the COVID19 pandemic, our George was diagnosed with a rare and invasive form of cancer. George lost his battle with cancer. In loving memory of George, I continue providing dog boarding services through Rover. I donate 20% of my Rover income to registered animal rescue and/or sanctuary centres in rural Guatemala (the GAAP), and in Mission BC (SAINTS). George, our most recent dog was a rescued big Black Lab retriever mix. When we rescued him, he was a survivor of neglect and violence, but with love, care and lots of patience on our part, in a few months, he let us know his true loving self. He was a true gentle-dog and emotionally gifted companion who channelled his low-energy into being a sort of 'mentor' to our Rover dog guests. George made friends with cats, crows, farm animals, any dog and any human he encountered. Boarding: In addition to access to our grassy and fully-fenced yard, we provide your dog 1 Hr walk per day and several 20 Min walks/bathroom breaks. Extra outdoor activities during weekends and/or holidays. We interact with the dogs in the form of positive reinforcement. We encourage our guest dogs to be social, playful, and to respond to basic commands in Spanish and English. We will try to meet your dog's routine. Reviews
Angela and Larry are absolutely amazing and we all love them.
amazing care. wonderful person.
Angela and her family have done so much to welcome our dogs in their home and make them so very comfortable. We get regular updates and complete peace of mind while we’re away — and that’s priceless!
Another well deserved 5-star review, that was easy!

We welcome any breeds. In loving memory of our doggie companions during our childhood we have a soft spot for Chihuahas, seniour dogs, and special need dogs.
A typical day
At home we speak Spanish, French, and English. If you want, your dog staying with us will be taught some words in Spanish (for example: toys, basic commands, words of encouragement). 30-60 minute walks a day if your dog is leash trained; otherwise we'll provide lots of exercise and fun at our backyard.
