Pet care experience
From the day I was born, animals have been my preferred company - and I have spent my life learning how to understand and care for all creatures. I grew up with a family who never had less than two dogs, and eventually became an active liaison for a Standard Poodle Rescue and a Great Dane Rescue. Working along my mother and sister, we have successfully rehabilitated and placed dogs in need in forever loving homes. My responsibilities include feeding, playing, bathing, clipping, administering medication, and walking both our fosters and our personal dogs. Up until joining Rover, I have also pet-sat for close friends and family members that have dogs, cats, and/or horses. I have two kitties and a horse of my own who is boarded at a nice facility. Owning two cats has given me the chance to learn their species very intimately, instead of seeing cats through "dog-colored glasses" as some people tend to do. Whether your pet is a dog, a cat, a horse, or even a fish, I am a firm believer that every animal is completely unique. They ALL have different quirks, behaviors, routines, and opinions - and they should be treated as such. I absolutely adore animals, and just because they cannot speak to us doesn't mean that they aren't communicating. I have great attention to detail and provide the animals that I care for the privilege of being understood and treated the way that their owners treat them. Whether your pet is a couch potato, high-energy, or struggles with separation anxiety, I am capable of noticing their needs and proactively acting upon them to provide the care they need to be comfortable in all moments of your absence. Dog/Cat/Horse breed traits, nutrition, firm routines, training - you name it, I've done/seen it all. I insist on using my animal experience to provide the best care for all of the furbabies out there. Experience set aside, I just adore animals. Angela watched my one year old pup and took care of her while my pup had pneumonia. She is very attentive and will make sure your pet has everything they need and more! As a house-sitter, I want to provide the utmost assurance that, when you return, not only will your pet be as happy as you last saw them, but your home will look as if you have never left. For the pets and for the homeowner, I think it is a necessity that there are no additional guests in the home aside from myself - the pets don't need the stress, and it is disrespectful to the homeowner. So, you can trust that I will be the only individual there to care for your pet. I will be available to communicate very frequently and send updates as preferred by you, and respect the boundaries you have set in your home. Doors will always stay locked, if you have a fenced-in yard gates will always stay closed, and my focus will be on nothing but your pet(s) and my freelance writing.

Please let me know everything you can about your dog. A comprehensive overview of their personality is important for me to make sure I have activities planned that they will enjoy. Any special needs or quirks should be noted, and the more detail the better. I would also like to know when they usually go outside, when they usually eat, what their favorite toys or treats are, etc.
A typical day
It is important for me to make sure the pets I care for are able to be mentally and physically stimulated! I will play fetch, go on walks, and work on basic commands (if you'd like) to get their brain moving. If it is a rainy/snowy day, I will play indoor games with them such as using a snuffle mat for them to use their nose and expend energy that way. I like to walk anywhere and everywhere, though I prefer areas in nature and parks over street sidewalks - so it is a bonus if your dog likes going on scenic walks!

I work remotely as a freelance writer for a travel publication. Ironically, I myself never travel. As long as there is wifi, I can write from anywhere. I will choose when to write around the schedule of care we arrange for your pet.
