Pet care experience
Hello! Here's a little information about me: I've grown up with dogs and cats and have experience with a variety of breeds: Great Dane, Shepherd/Collie mix, Rottweiler, American Bulldog, Pug, Golden Retriever, Poodle, American Cocker Spaniel, Chihuahua, Greyhound, and mixed breeds. In 2017, I volunteered at the BARC (Brooklyn Animal Rescue Shelter) in New York City walking dogs and providing enrichment. I've passed a 6-week Puppy Socialization course led by the Working Dog Center at the Matthew J. Ryan Veterinary Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 2018. This course was led by VMDs specializing in canine cognitive science and behavior, as well as experienced canine trainers. While living in Philadelphia, I walked dogs, dog sat and cat sat to a private clients in Philadelphia, and continue to do the same in San Diego after moving here in 2020. I know from personal experience what it's like to worry about your pet being home alone, or being visited by a stranger. I know it's hard to focus on your workday or be fully present on a trip. I am very sensitive to animal needs and aim to make your loved fur family feel comfortable, relaxed and happy while they are in my care. I am glad to send you regular updates, photos, answer all questions, and accommodate you and your dog to the best of my abilities. When I am not dog walking or sitting, I am working on my Master's Degree in Special Education.

Anfisa was awesome! I really appreciated the fact that she showed up to our consultation with a notebook and took notes on how to care for Taz; this showed me that she actually cares about the pets she’s watching over and how to take care of them. She was super attentive to Taz’s needs, gave great, thorough updates during her meetings with him, and was on time for each appointment (booked 3 walks in one day). I had a rough first experience with this app, but she made me a believer again. Thank you Anfisa!

I have a secured, safe and clean apartment. I use filtered water, an air purifier and non-toxic cleaning chemicals in my home. I also keep pet rats who are secured in an enclosure, and can be kept separate from your pet in a different room. If working in your home, I would consider your needs and preferences.

I'd like to know: house-training, temperament, loves/fears, favorite types of toys and enrichment tools, favorite foods and snacks, physical limitations and special needs, typical schedule for feeding and walks, history when staying or being walked by other sitters/walkers. I also need to know all medical needs, including allergies and medications, so that I can ensure safety first. The more I know about your dog and his/her needs, the better I can make the experience.
A typical day
I would love to walk your dog around my neighborhood in beautiful Banker's Hill and nearby Balboa Park. I like to engage dogs with interactive games, such as tug-of-war, hide-and-seek, catch-and-retrieve (throwing a ball). I am glad to take your dog for car rides where he/she will sit in the middle of the back seat and be secured with a harness and seatbelt. This may not be for every dog, but it is available for those special low-riders! I have water and food bowls, filtered water, and a few toys, but please provide any special diet food or toys to use with your dog. Having a blanket, bed or favorite toy will help your pet feel more at ease in a new home.

Availability
I'm flexible and available for dog walking, pet sitting and boarding, and I'm glad to create a daily or weekly routine that fits in with both of our schedules. I am usually out a few hours of the day for work and errands.
