Your Pet's Safety = My Top Priority

Pet care experience

Dyed-in-the-wool Dog Guy with a natural talent for understanding and communicating with our Companion Animals. My home-base is located in the heart of the Salt Lake Valley, letting me visit most parts of the city within about 30 minutes. I love walking with dogs in all SLC neighborhoods! My carefully-studied, Methodical Approach to safe dog management grants me a Unique Ability to handle large or otherwise difficult dogs that other caregivers refuse. Overnight dogs remain safely kenneled when I am not able directly to supervise. I'm also able to keep your dog separate from people and other dogs on request. Please let me know if you have questions or special requests. I can accommodate most feeding, training, or exercise needs to maximize the value of your dog's time with me. I am privately insured over-and-above Rover's Guarantee for your peace of mind. WALKING DOGS Please provide the safety equipment your dog prefers to wear when the two of you normally walk. I will use my own leash. If I determine that the equipment you provided for your dog's walk is unsafe or inadequate, I will use a safe backup collar and/or any other safety equipment I deem necessary to ensure the wellbeing of everyone involved. OVERNIGHT DOGS Please provide an adequate quantity of your pet’s food & medication in an air-tight container, as well as up-to-date vaccination records for rabies (req.), parvovirus (req.), distemper (req.), and bordetella (rec.). Only send beds or toys that your dog will definitely NOT destroy and swallow please! If not equipped with one at drop-off, your dog will be fitted with a properly sized choke chain collar and rope tab for the duration of their stay. I will not accept dogs which I cannot personally collar-up. HOME VISITS Your house your rules! Give me detailed instructions and I'll follow them to the letter!

Kaiser loves Andy and all the doggy playtime he gets staying with him! Andy is super knowledgeable and reliable, and he always sends the funniest picture/video updates. We cannot recommend highly enough -- AMPS is awesome!

Didn’t show up for a scheduled walk didn’t communicate about why. I’ve booked a week long walk for an upcoming trip, I know will now be canceling. Not impressed.

Information Andy M. would like to know about your pet

I need to know your dog's age and neuter/spay status, if your dog is well-mannered around other dogs and people, if your dog is house and kennel-trained. Please let me know if your bitch will be in heat at any point during her stay at least 1 WEEK ahead of drop-off. Nobody likes a surprise! Just let me know please! I don't recommend that you board puppies under 6 months of age due to increased risk to their developing immune systems. Maybe someone in your family can help?

A typical day

WALKING DOGS We walk in a calm, cool, and collected manner. I don't allow unsafe pulling on lead - if your dog is used to playing "powerboat" to his human's "water-skier," I'll safely show him how to walk with me on a loose leash. I NEVER publicly unleash dogs who are unreliable off-leash. If your dog is unreliable off-leash and you'd like to change that, ask for my card. OVERNIGHT DOGS Overnight dogs remain safely kenneled indoors when I am not able directly to supervise them. Outside, dogs have the opportunity run on a quarter-acre, double-fenced dog-run. I let the dogs out for extended yard-time whenever I'm out there working or training, if appropriate. Attractions include wide-open spaces to run around, areas with thick vegetation to explore, plenty of sticks to play tug and keep-away with, and dog-pools to cool-off in. Also, during the summer we irrigate the lawn with water from the Jordan canal which creates marshy conditions that the dogs LOVE to roll around and play in. I do my best to hose down the muddy ones before sending them home but please understand that we love to spend as much time as we can outdoors! HOME VISITS Your house your rules!
