HAVE AN EMERGENCY HOLIDAY NEED? Contact me! I've loved dogs all my life and have 50+ years of experience. I can't imagine living without one nearby. I've been lucky to own everything from mutts, Cairn Terriers, Scotties, German Shepherds, Russian Wolfhounds (Borzoi) to every flavor of miniature Dachshund (long-haired, wire-haired and a smooth-haired classic Red Barron). Today, I'm down to just my "boyz". Two neutered Maltese brothers who've never spent a night apart from each other in their 7 years. Joining them a few years ago is Angel, a Thai Ridgeback/Golden Retriever mix (we believe). We're not really sure how old Angel is. We adopted Angel when her owner passed away a few years ago. Now when people ask how old she is, we simply reply "very". I work from home and care for my kids of 4, 12 and 14. Our dogs love to bark, jump and announce when someone's at the door. However, it's not long before they're back on my lap or lying in front of the fire. They're child friendly and Dexter and Dudley have been by my 4 year old's side since the day we brought her home. We're lucky to live in a quiet, dog friendly, neighborhood and have a nice fenced-in yard with two separate sections. We live in a walkable but hilly neighborhood. It's great exercise.

I’ve had the chance of knowing Andy for a number of years. Of the interests we have in common, dogs has always been the biggest. Like me, Andy’s had dogs since he was a kid. Besides being a dog lover, it’s easy to tell he really knows how to care for his dogs. They’re not just pets, they’re members of his family. Dog-sitting is something Andy takes seriously because he knows how important a person’s dog is.

Before accepting a new client, we always like to know their history with small children and other dogs. Are they crate trained? What are their sleeping and activity habits? Any health related issues? Are they on any medication? Have they had all their shots? Are there any special medical or other needs?
A typical day
Dogs staying with us will have an opportunity for daily walks, either alone if this is what they're used to...or with my two Maltese who always love the extra company. Playful dogs will find no shortage of well-mannered activity with my 4-year-old or 12-year-old. If a slower pace is more their thing, there's plenty of private spots to call their own or they can curl up in front of the fire if it's a cold night.
