A Boy's Dog

Pet care experience

My name is Andrew and I'm the owner of A Boy's Dog, a pet care company I started in Alaska. I grew up with pets and have worked with them my whole life. Being around animals is a meaningful part of my life. My goal is to help people make sure that their pets get the love and care they deserve. Whatever you and your pets' needs are, I am confident I can meet them so my clients can harmonically balance their lives while maintaining inclusivity for their pets as a loved member of the family. Please reach out with questions. All rates are flexible depending on the situation.

Andrew helped us out tremendously by taking our dog Millie for 4 days while we had to urgently leave town for a family matter. He responded very quickly & came to meet our newly rescued and somewhat fearful 50 lb Millie. Andrew was so calm with her and she became very relaxed with him in no time. I had been nervous about finding someone who handle her and but as soon as he left the meet and greet I knew we’d found our new sitter. He took great care of her, sent pictures, responded to all texts, and even brought her back to us rested from days of playing. We’re very grateful we connected with Andrew. Thanks!!!

I had Andrew walk/run my Husky for over a year. For those unaware it takes a special person to handle a Husky- they always want to be the lead. He made sure my pup knew who was the dominate with love and consistency. He helped train him on his walks which benefitted the other dog walkers I have gotten. Living in Alaska you have all kinds of weather, Andrew came daily- rain, wind, snow or the occasional sunny day. We were heartbroken when he said he was moving. After he left if we went to a place they had met my pup got soo excited looking for him. Now when I say pup he is a 100 lbs of love, so Andrew was able to give him a great workout and brought him home tired every time. Would highly recommend him- our loss is your gain.

Andrew is phenomenal, very reliable, commutative, very trustworthy and simply everything you would want in someone who’s taking care of a part of your family. I highly recommend Andrew for any of your needs. One of the only few people I would trust to take care and love others pets as his own.

Andrew was a godsend. My husband and I moved across the country a year ago and do not have any close friends or relatives to watch our dogs anymore but was tough choosing someone random to do so but Andrew will forever be our go-to dog sitter. He was patient with them and treated them like angels, kept us posted, and kept everything in order while staying at our house. He even made multiple trips over prior so that he had plenty of meet and greet time before staying alone with them. Thank you Andrew, you were a lifesaver!

Information Andrew B. would like to know about your pet

Prior to working with your pet, I prefer to do a meet and greet with the owner(s) and their pet(s). This opportunity is a chance for me to familiarize myself with your pets, history and personal needs. It's important to me that I know how old your pet is, what settings you do or don't want your pet to be involved in (ex: play groups, hikes, people), how your pet does around other animals and people, whether or not your pet takes medication, and a number of other important pieces of information about your pet.

A typical day

Activities depend on what you're looking for for your pet, what your pet can handle, and what your pet's energy level is. Typically walks are taken out in nature or at the beach so that there is an abundance of space, lots of new smells, and and new and thrilling environments. Additionally, some walks are taken in pet friendly neighborhoods. Depending on the day we may go to a local dog park.
