🌟🐕‍Expertise, empathy, & security

Pet care experience

🐕‍🦺👨‍💼PRO EXPERIENCE: Extensive experience training dogs; infinite patience and care for even stubborn and anxious pups; keen awareness of dog health, including behavioral tics, anxious/acting-out behaviors; recent experience caring for 100+ dogs in a cage-less boarding facility; trained for crisis/intervention in dog fights and injuries; currently a dog daycare attendant in Glendale, CA. 🐶🏡LIVED EXPERIENCE: My hometown family and friends have been big-dog families; and I'm a dog dad with my partner of a medium pug-husky street rescue mix, who accompanies me to my dog daycare job just up the road every day! She's extremely friendly, sociable, and curious -- a great warm-up dog for other dogs who are open to meeting new friends. 😎MORE ABOUT ME: I volunteer with non-profits, work with dogs at a daycare, and provide mental health support to patients online in California. I live and work in Eagle Rock, Pasadena, and Glendale, CA. ☮🏳️‍🌈💙🌍

Andrew was great handling my puppies and following directions and doing extra cleanup work as well. I will definitely call on Andrew again.

Andrew was amazing! He sent us multiple pictures of Cooper during his time with him and made us feel very comfortable as he is still just 12 weeks old. We know Cooper is in great hands with Andrew, a true dog lover! He even went as far as to clean up the mess our puppy had made prior to his arrival. Highly recommend.

Andrew did a great job watching my senior dog, a 15y golden retriever with mobility issues and intermittent inappetence. I typically leave him with colleagues and/or my bf, and was especially nervous to leave him at home with someone new. But my worries were unnecessary! Andrew came by ahead of time to bond with Jake and learn all of his special needs, and then maintained great communication with me throughout the stay (with pics and video!). I felt comfortable, Jake was comfortable, and Andrew's patience, enthusiasm, and genuine love for dogs shines through. Their sweet bond kept Jake happy and eating well throughout the stay. I am grateful to have found another sitter in the area, and would not hesitate to use Andrew again! Thanks Andrew!

Used Andrew on reccomendation from a friend this past week who used him in the past. Had a last minute trip and needed a house sitter and someone to take care of my dogs and bird while I was gone. (4 days). He kept everything tidy and made sure the dogs were well taken care of. Including my bird. He checked my mail and even watered all my outside plants and grass. (Didn't ask him to do that. I completely forgot). Cool guy. Trustworthy and thorough.

Safety, trust & environment

I'm a professional -- I have a lot of time-tested common sense, experience, and expertise working with dogs and people in many environments, including home visits and off-site training sessions at parks. Assuming your home and space is already secured and set, I'll be sure to follow any other given instructions on setting alarms, locking entryways and windows, hiding keys, piling the mail, etc. -- whatever your needs are while you're gone.

Information Andrew A. would like to know about your pet

Any behavior triggers; soothing behaviors (in case dog misses parents or is otherwise distraught); allergies; particular breeds/other types of dogs or pedestrians (skateboarders, bikes, etc.) that dog may not like. We can talk out the details, but in short, I just need to know of any safety, health, medical, or food challenges that your dog may need special attending to.

A typical day

?DOGS: Can expect to feel secure, happy, and relaxed. I keep my senses tuned for their needs -- whether they like or dislike what's going on, or require rest or play (depending on their mood), or just need to walk around or take care of business. Parents have remarked that dogs that have been anxious handfuls with some sitters tend to relax and enjoy my company. My dog is a 2-year-old pug-husky mix (she's quirky, curious, and extremely sociable -- maybe too much fun for some older dogs) and she can accompany me to any client homes or visits, if your dog wants any socializing.

Because I work primarily from home as a psychotherapist, and I handle dogs at a nearby daycare facility, I can easily cover my neighborhood for any drop-in, overnight, or day-visit needs. My dog is also up for anything, and upon request, can accompany me to visit your dog(s).
