Aside from how much I've always loved dogs, I have a lot of experience caring for dogs with separation anxiety; this has made me very passionate about creating comfortable spaces for dogs, with enough engagement to keep them stimulated and happy! I grew up with a boxer who suffered from severe anxiety when left alone, which showed me how important crate training can be while also opening my eyes to just how much dogs need us as companions, too! I now have two dogs of my very own; both rescues, they needed a lot of work to help curb their anxiety. Since I freelance and work from home, they are fortunate enough to have me all day, in addition to each other and their dog dad. I'm at a point where I could and would like to help others give their dogs more regular companionship throughout the day. Additionally, I have friends who couldn't travel out of town because their dogs could neither handle the trip, nor handle being boarded while at home. I watched their lives transform once they found the perfect dog sitter, allowing their pup(s) to be cared for while also letting them take a break and recharge! I want to do this for others. I will stay calm and firm, yet reward good behavior, and I can certainly act to reinforce whatever training you are trying to put in place. If I'm dog-sitting your dog, we will discuss their needs in terms of play and activity. For the entire duration of my visit(s) during the day, I will be engaging with them; for overnight stays, they will get at least an hour before sleep and at least an hour upon waking up of solid playtime. It's such a healthy way for them to exercise, discharge stress, and also trust me!
