Dogs deserve a vacation too!

Pet care experience

I have a 7 year old high energy Vizsla by day and a couch potato by night - and we've come up with some creative ways of getting his energy out to make for a tired dog at the end of the day. After all, play hard, snooze hard. I’m always the first person friends ask to watch/walk their dogs because they know they’re treated like superstars with me. (Seriously, you’ll think they’re on vacation away from you instead of the other way around). I have worked as a part-time vet tech in the past and am familiar of animal behavior and general medical knowledge. I’m comfortable administering meds if needed. And as a dog mom I know sometimes long walks, runs around, or swims (when it’s warm out) aren't enough to wear your pup out and learning a new trick, reinforcing a trick, or doing some puzzles or sniffing games can help exercise their minds. Dogs aren't just pets, they're family and they should be treated that way. I do my best to make sure your dog will go home to you tired at the end of their stay! Most dogs I watch end up becoming repeat customers and the mere mention of ‘going to Tuckers house’ they get so excited. Tucker definitely makes new BFFs.

Very happy with her! Was accommodating on all levels, she sends pics throughout the day. Boone and Tucker played a lot because when he got home he was a lazy dog! Will for sure be using her next time!

Andrea was great! My dog, Jax, has to have medication twice daily and Andrea made sure she let me know when she gave it to him so I wouldn’t be worried. She kept me constantly updated with beautiful pics! Jax seemed to have a great time and we will definitely be using her again!

Andrea was great to work with! She was easy to communicate with and flexible with pickup and dropoff times. While I was away she sent lots of photos and videos keeping me updated on my sweet boy. And Beau had a blast with Tucker! We will definitely be using her again in the future.

I cannot say enough great things about Andrea!! I was worried how Piper was going to do away from home for the first time since COVID, but Andrea made sure she was comfortable and so well loved the entire time!! I got picture updates of them exploring/at the park throughout the weekend. Piper came home tired and happy. I would recommend Andrea to anyone!

I have a spacious apartment and a screened in porch if your pup loves to sunbathe. They're allowed on furniture (as long as it's ok with you) and I want them to feel as much as home with me like they do at their home.

Home

Lives in an apartment
Does not have a yard
Non-smoking household
Has 1 dog
No children present
Dogs allowed on bed
Dogs allowed on furniture
Potty breaks every 4-8 hours

Information Andrea M. would like to know about your pet

Do they pull on the leash? Are they leash/dog reactive? Friendly with other dogs/people? Protective over certain things (food/toys/sticks)? Any food allergies? Can they have peanut butter as a treat? Do they have any weird quirk/habits? Is there anything they will try to get in to or things they chew? Any key words or phrases you say to get them to go potty? Certain commands you’d like me to reinforce? Do you allow them on furniture? How about the bed? How are they in the car (anxious, whining, panting, so excited doesn’t know what to do with their body?). I drive an SUV and the dogs are only allowed in the trunk/cargo space, will your dog be able to jump back there?

A typical day

We’ll talk a walk around Legacy Park, Swamp Rabbit Trail, Cleveland Park, check out local breweries or if you’ve been to Unleashed Dog Bar (we’re frequent flyers there) we can go there too! And if your dog is dog park friendly, I can always take them there for extra socialization but that is totally all in your preference! I try to keep dog park visits to early morning when there is minimal dogs. If it’s rainy out, we’ll do some puzzles inside, sniff & seek games, or learn a new trick. I try my best to make sure we have a balance of some similar routine at home and varying it up while they’re here so it’s new and fun. They deserve an adventure & mini vacation while you’re away too.
