Hi, my name is Andrea and I am a 21 year old college student, currently taking a semester off and looking to go back into working with dogs and hopefully find some regular clients so I can get to know your pet better! When I was 9-18 yrs old I helped take care of our family lab and the 3 cats we owned and I recently fostered a 4 year old American Staffordshire pittie from spring 2020-last summer. I have worked in settings with all different kinds of animals. I started working at a dog kennel(day care/boarding/grooming services) in April 2018 until December 2019 when I moved to CT. I then worked at a different day care from Dec 2020-Aug 2021. I have learned a variety of skills since starting in 2018, and am now able to control a large number of dogs on my own and feel confident in deciphering between different behaviors dog display to us and each other, whether it is comfort, shyness, fear, or playfulness. I really love spending time with the individual dogs and getting to know their personalities so that they can trust and know me, which I find the most important part of the job. I'm comfortable feeding your dog and giving meds in pill, liquid drop, or spray forms, however I don't have experience with injections (definitely willing to learn, though!). I can come to your home to walk your dog, play with them in the backyard, bring them on a hike, or keep them company while house sitting. There’s also the option of your dog staying in my home whether they like to sleep in a crate, on a dog bed or human’s bed, it doesn’t matter to me, you’ll just have to let me know if your dog(s) get along with other dogs because I live with a 35 pound 2 year old dog. She is very friendly in every aspect; she has met hundreds of dogs and loves playing but also likes to keep to herself especially if your dog doesn’t enjoy playing.
